Didn’t receive a rewards/VIP perks. Staff were polite but not their usual warm friendly approach; They seemed a bit harassed so weren’t as proactive or upbeat as they usually are. Hotel was very clean, and room great. No dressing downs etc that are usually in room (possibly only in upgraded rooms). Easy access walking into city and taxis easily flagged by lovely porters. Internal rooms, though smaller with no view, are so much quieter than those on the city facing side.

Didn’t have breakfast. Room was excellent but I had no shower gel in the shower or maybe the pump just wasn’t working and the same with the hand and body cream. The hair dryer wasn’t very good as it had no nozzle and stopped working half way through using it. Apart from these minor issues everything was excellent.

On first appearance this hotel seemed very nice, unfortunately our premium room had no outside view and was dark. This could be overlooked, but the pillows were hard and lumpy, chrome casting didn’t work, tea but no coffee available, and the bath plug didn’t work. To make matters worse the in room telephone had been unplugged and didn’t work so we had to physically go to reception to complain. For over £200 per night I would expect more. On the plus side, the manager was very helpful even if other members seemed lost, and we were moved to a better room, which solved many of the issues. In all, great location, but the sister hotel next door was much better and will be getting our business in the future.

We stayed here with our children a few years ago and had a 5 star experience. This time it was just the two of us in a smaller room and it was night and day. Dated and dirty. I was surprised when we walked in because I thought they forgot to clean it—dirty mirrors, dirty shower, and hair in the bathroom. Ice bucket was dirty and I was worried about using the mugs and sleeping in the bed (are they also dirty?). The bathroom had a weird smell. I complained the next day since I was too jetlagged the first day. I was cut off almost immediately (“we will send someone up to clean”) so I didn’t get to even point out what I wasn’t happy with. They did clean that day and it was cleaner but really should have been clean the first day. Bathroom still had a very strange smell. Very unlikely that I’ll stay here again after this sour experience. It was room 1054 for reference
