The room was spacious and clean.Had to take our bags to the room.No facecloths,tea towels,broken ironing board and the two irons supplied both leaked water..Room not serviced ran out of toilet paper ,tea and milk on first day!!!.View from room 421 was very pleasant.Outside surrounding very pleasant for walking and good restaurants all close by. Marsden offers plush rooms at great rates. It was challenging to find (as it is within the Sofitel Hotel with no signage) but once there, we enjoyed the spacious room, comfortable bed and fantastic location.

The bed was comfortable and the tea was nice, and the check-in staff were friendly (although we had to wait quite a while to be met and escorted to the check-in desk which was not on the ground floor). Otherwise, pretty average really. All taps were really bad, very difficult (stiff or seized) to turn on and off. The shower hand set was broken, the TV was extremely slow to get anything and although the instructions said you could watch terrestrial TV, that was not an option. We tried to get a drink in the bar downstairs and even though there were people sitting in the bar, the waitress would not let us in, saying they were closed. This was at 10.30pm, i.e. not late. (Just in case you're wondering, we are presentable 65 year-olds, and were not inebriated.)
