Wyndham Extra Holidays - accommodation in Long Beach

Check in was a hassle. Was told there would be a $50 early check in fee. Due to this I decided to go shopping. I then received a text about room being available 1 hr prior to retail at check in time and opted out on early check in to avoid having to pay the extra $50. An hour later, I showed up to hotel to check in to be told that my room was not ready but that they would notify me as soon as a room became available. I ended up sitting in my car waiting for an hour before noticing a long line of people checking in and exiting with room keys so I went back in to follow up. At this point I was pretty upset and was told my room just became available which I felt was intentional because I opted out on paying an extra $50 1 hr prior to regular check in time.

Very interesting history

It is clean, parking is expensive, the AC fan is a little loud but acceptable. It is also strange that they use bar soap in the bathroom. It is a wasteful practice. They also always give a bag of water and snacks also wasteful the bags get thrown away and it would be a smarter option to have a filtered water dispenser in the lobby or on every floor to reduce plastic waste.
