I rated this stay EXCELLENT because the ship is truly living history. Let me set your expectations; one electrical outlet in the bathroom, paper thin walls, not sure if there is air conditioning but the room was perfect with one of my portholes open, 2 bottles of water, 2 towels/2 hand/2 face towels. This is a luxury stay if you are ready to experience ocean traveling from almost a century ago. The ship truly is extraordinary and facinating because the majority of the ship has been meticulously maintained and serves as a hotel and museum experience. Carnival Cruise pier is located (2025) right next to it….perfect place to stay and walk over to your cruise ship. Princess Cruise pier was a few miles away ($40 USD taxi ride). The staff….ALL OF THEM….were friendly, helpful, efficient, accommodating and most are absolutely in love with their job and are walking historians!! The Scorpion-class WW2 submarine next to it was a laughing touch of irony in my mind….WW2 history buffs will get it. Officer Paul Jaczek has been walking this ship’s decks for 50 years and is an expert on The Queen Mary and Titantic and loves to answer questions and share! Look for a man that is dressed like a Captain, resembles both Santa Claus and Captain Edward Smith (Titantic Captain) and has the cheeriest and most adorable grin and laugh on board!!! If you are wanting modern luxury amenities, you’ll be disappointed. This is a once in a lifetime experience for those that want to time travel!!
