This place was low-key and really nice! I never knew there was a hotel like this in Torrance, and I’ll definitely be coming back. The property has a gate, which adds an extra layer of security for both your car and room. The rooms themselves were surprisingly nice and had a unique charm compared to other places I’ve stayed in LA. It’s not luxury, but it strikes a great balance between affordability and thoughtful design — the decorations give it real character. Location-wise, it’s right in the heart of Torrance, surrounded by bars, restaurants, and easy freeway access. The staff were all super friendly and respectful, which made the stay even better. They also have a cozy lounge area that looked perfect for working during the day — lots of sunlight — and I could totally see myself grabbing a beer from the front desk and relaxing there.

This is actually my third stay at Bluestem, and per usual, it was pleasant and enjoyable. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. It is by no means a luxury hotel, but it is definitely good quality at its price point. The only critique I had was that the beds are not particularly comfortable (soft) to my liking, but it was not horrible and uncomfortable; I know some prefer a firm mattress. I will return and recommend this location to anyone planning an LA trip, as it can be difficult to find good lodging for that price point in the city. Thanks, Bluestem, for your hospitality.

This was our first and definitely our last stay at this hotel. The only reason we chose it was because they allowed check-in after midnight. When we arrived and entered our room, we immediately found ants on the bed both alive and dead. My husband went to the front desk to report the issue, and they offered us another room. However, the new room was smaller, and they claimed it was the only one available. When we went to that second room, we discovered ants again this time in the shower. As we checked the rest of the room, we also found a spiderweb with a live spider. My husband had to go back to the front desk once more, but no one was there for over 15 minutes. When someone finally returned, he explained the issue again. They seemed surprised and offered to spray the room, saying there were no other rooms available. After my husband requested a refund due to the room being unclean and infested, they suddenly found another room for us. We moved there, but by that point, the experience had already been extremely disappointing. In short, I will never stay here again. I was planning to return during the holidays, but after this experience, that will not happen. The service was poor, the rooms smelled musty, and overall cleanliness was unacceptable. We paid $700 for just three nights, and it was absolutely not worth the price. You can see in the photos that the conditions were far below what anyone should expect for that rate. I would not recommend this hotel not even to my
