Upon arrival we didn't know where to stop to check in. It's situated on a busy street in downtown Los Angeles so cars are constantly driving along this street. The free parking is nice but we didn't know that we could have temporarily parked in the drive way while we checked in. There's no signs to help people do this so we ended up parking in valet. Thankfully the valet was nice and allowed us to sit there without paying. The next thing was the office was closed so that caused a bit of a panic. I had absolutely no cell service on that whole block so I couldn't call the office to let them know we were there. After about 5-10 minutes the front desk clerk showed up and it seemed like they were the only staff so it made sense why they had to close up the office. Check in at that point was simple and staff was super friendly and accommodating. The room was your typical 2 star type room with decent beds and a decent bathroom. The room had a smell but it was not terrible. The noise from the freeway is audible but not super loud but if you're a sensitive sleeper bring earplugs. The shampoo in the bathroom says conditioning but it was very drying so bring conditioner. The walls and other areas definitely need to be reconditioned. The free tea and coffee was less than gas station quality and the small cafe area was very dead and dirty. Besides the great staff the only other great thing was having free parking and it was gated.
