We filed a complaint with our card company. The motel smelt moldy and musty. People was checking in and coming back and requesting a refund. The rooms were moldy and had bugs, bed bugs. The hostess quit on the spot and the owners came rushing in there trying to fix it. Our card company will be conta ting you.

This place was great for what it was. The only thing was there were little ants kind of by the shower, but otherwise everything was clean, staff was easy, and the location is amazing.

The room was filled with bugs, alive and dead. Cobwebs in every corner and on the curtains. The air quality was terrible. The room was damp and musty. Our shoes all got filled with ants. The room was deplorable, and people in prison have better accommodations.

There is no TV remote in our room. One side of the electrical panel did not work. The bedding was dirty on one of the beds. The bedspread look like it had mold, and it was paint. The property outside was not very clean. It was trash along the beach area. The people upstairs above us were loud and noisy all night and we didn’t get any sleep. It was no phone or anybody at the hotel to call in case of emergency or to get them to stop being so loud and noisy.. There was no blow dryer in the room and no coffee pot. This was not acceptable in my book especially for the price

First the photos of what you think you are paying for are deceiving. There are 3 areas; the 'Courtyard' which is the one level motel part shaped as a horseshoe around the check and pool/hot tub. Which probably hasnt seen any updates since they have opened. It smelled sour when we walked in. The person I was with started coughing. Yellowing of everything, musty, lampshades were broken, I had to plug things in and the plugs barely stayed in the sockets, stains on bed, giant hole in the ceiling, mold in bathroom, cracks in walls and tiles. Spiders/webs were collected in corners and on the bed. Went back to talk to the nice woman who checked us in. She apologized and we asked to why we were put there to begin with. Since we thought we had booked a cabin. She kindly explained that we booked the courtyard room, which she was right. Everything was so misleading. So we got the "upgrade", meaning we paid almost another $90 to be in the three story building in the back against the water. "Upgrade" probably built in 2000. More things broken, a giant gap between the door and frame, cracks in tiles, mold in bathroom, missing lampshades, tv would not work. (Yes I shared this with the woman at check in) Bed was like sleeping on a box spring, my friend called them a trampoline. There was also NO 24/hr management onsite. The # they provide goes to the hotel next door. We had way more issues but I do not have enough space to type it all out. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. Sleep in your car.

This place should be condemned the pictures are definitely not what you get would never recommend this place to anyone i paid for 2 family rooms one room thebfridge didnt work the other room the bath tub didnt drain so many bugs the pool and hot tub were out of order there was mold on the curtain in the bathroom and the ceiling very outdated no pictures on the walls no nothing very disappointed

Mixed bag, we ended up needing to switch rooms, as the one I booked had plumbing issues ( not blaming the hotel, these things happen ). They put us in a better room, for the same rate, which was very appreciated. The only downside was this room was not cleaned fully prior to us getting in. The hotel manager said the cleaning crew would come by to finish cleaning. They never did. It seemed to me that they may have been understaffed. We ended up finishing the cleaning of the room ourselves. We did have to move the used vacuum out of the room so it was not in the way. But these were all fairly minor inconveniences. The beach that the hotel is situated on is very clean, however, like most beaches in Mackinaw City is pretty shallow. The pool and hot tub, while I did not personally go into, seemed to be fine from the people in my party that did use them. Do note this hotel does not seem to offer a breakfast, we ended up eating out on our excursions so we would not have partaken anyway. Overall, I would probably stay again. Just be mindful that this is not a "resort" hotel but rather a more basic accommodation. And it suits that niche perfectly fine.

7 lamps in the room and only one worked. Sink wouldnt shut off Deck outside the room covered in spider webs and seagull crap Windows filthy and tracks covered with dead bugs. All the wall oulets worn out and anything you pluged in fell out. Front door looked like it was kicked in. Parking lot was very dirty. Beach had weeds growing up. NOT MAINTAINED. SHOULD HAVE GOT REFUND

Family Vacation

I had booked a family suite/room, and they upgraded us to beach side. However, I went back to the desk and ask for the original room, as it had 3 beds to the two in the upgraded room. It was in the older part of the inn. When we opened the door it was defiantly from the past. But if you're traveling with family - book the family suite/ room with the 3 beds. The rooms were separated, so the kids were in their own room and we in ours. There was even a pull-out bed that wasn't listed so if you were traveling with more people, you could still stay very comfortably. The room shared a bathroom in the middle, had a table on each side and the chairs had seen better days for the fabric/ covering. The hot tub was broken, and the pool was open, but it was as cold as the lake water on Lake Huron. They told us at check in we were welcome to use the pool and hot tub next door. But we didn't. Staffing was a little weird as they put a note on the door stating to go next door for service. It was a short walk, but still a little weird.

No employees on site, newly “renovated” room with beds and fridge from the 1980s, only 2 towels (no wash cloths or hand towels), large gap in door, had to go to a different hotel to check in and they weren’t given our reservation info so we had to wait for the manager to get to the property to check us in. We ended up not staying due to not feeling safe and went to the one that helped us check in. I emailed letting them know we weren’t staying and asked for a refund, naturally I haven’t heard back and it’s been 4 days. I would only stay here if I had a gun and/or a death wish.
