I booked this hotel for 3 nights for my wife's birthday as a surprise. Her parents had their honeymoon here in 1959 and my wife had always talked about staying there. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our stay. The property is touted as a 5 star hotel yet I believe a fairer rating would be a 3 or 4 star hotel. Upon check in we were given a key to our room and when we entered said room the bed was stripped with all of the sheets on the floor next to the bed. Unfortunately, the phone did not work so we had to walk to the front desk to request a different room. The property is so large that the walk took about 5 - 7 minutes. We were then given another room right next to our original room which seemed very nice, yet when we decided to fill the jetted tub, said tub would not drain. Also, the lightbulbs in the bathroom did not work and yet again the phone in the room did not work. A plumber fixed the tub within the hour and he told us that someone else would fix the light and phone later that evening. When neither the phone nor the lighting was fixed in our second room by early afternoon the following day we went to the front desk, and they switched us into a different room and they assured us the room had been inspected. At first glance everything seemed good yet in the morning when we tried to take a shower the shower drain would not drain at all and it immediately filled up with water. We were very disappointed with our stay.

Hello. I wanted to celebrate my husband 55 Birthday in Miami. Since he never been there. I had two packages delivered which both started delivered and signed by front desk. We'll I went round and round with front desk and concierge for an entire day. They have me mail room extension and no one answered phone for an entire day. Went back to concierge who in turn told me to go to front desk, so I did and was told I had to stand in line to talk with front desk manager. The wait was 30 minutes, once I did talk to manager, he said nothing they can do. I had to call mail room again. Finally I received only one package. The bottom line I was charged for a delivery fee for packages from hotel to just bring it to room. I couldn't go to mall room to get package. So disappointing.

Unfortunately this hotel is still living off its 5 star name but is a 3 star hotel at best. The main pool was closed due to renovation which was never mentioned so the other pools felt crowded. The pool near the beach club was awful, the bottom of the pool could not be seen. But my main problem was the fact that at no time in my four day stay did I feel I wasn’t being fleeced. They have a captive guest population and they are going to monetize those ppl to the fullest extent. There’s a $60 resort fee which includes a beach chair… sounds good BUT if you want an umbrella it’s going to cost you $30. Talk about a sand trap. Next is the $32 drinks and on and on. The elevators don’t feel safe and sorry if your room is next to them because you’re hearing them creek for the entire stay. What happened to this place?

big pool was closed, which was not known before booking. Elevators by me, 2 of the 4 were out of service, making my time wait long, every-time we went up and down (many people we waited with were annoyed) With the amount of money spent, little things count

Terrible experience. Ate at Steak restaurant and steak came out two different times not the requested temperature. Poor service due to automatic gratuity. Continue to be dismissed when we requested a hotel manager, “none available, they will call you back.” Poor experience overall. Much better places to go and won’t return.
