This basement apt is in the hood

First off, it is NOT a first floor apartment - it is a basement apartment. It’s obvious someone lives there as personal items were scattered throughout. It was dirty, the floor was uneven, and it needed to be painted. We only stayed two days and then left as it felt unsafe.
