The rooms were very nice! Very clean and surprisingly large. I really enjoyed the breakfast. The chocolate croissants were delicious! The best part of the stay was the staff. They welcomed you there every time you walked in the door. Roberto was exceptionally helpful. He ensured all of our needs were met.

The Element is a great hotel. Stayed here for six nights in April/26. Location was great-2 blocks from Canal St., beautiful outdoor sitting space, staff very helpful and friendly, very nice clean rooms, wonderful free breakfast, coffee available 24/7. Nothing negative to say. Highly recommend.

A Higher-End Experience on a Budget! We stayed for a week and paid less than $1,000, but the service and overall atmosphere felt like it could easily have been a $1,300+ luxury stay. The O'Keefe Street location is incredibly convenient, and the room we were placed in was lovely. Because we planned to spend the majority of our time "outside", we didn't need a property with tons of extras (pool, bar, gameroom, sauna, or whatever else people think they need). This hotel was literally like being at our own home in CA. On-site laundry facility, clean, cozy, spacious rooms, and a simple but good starter breakfast the morning before downing daiquiris all day (lol). The staff was also super wonderful—they even had a "just because" selfie booth for guests and a wine/cheese social hour. Fresh tea and infused water in the lobby, daily, were the cherry on top. If you want Southern Hospitality without breaking the bank, stay here!

Convenient location combined with clean, functional, comfortable and spacious rooms. That's the positive. As for the negative? Breakfast that ends at 9am (9:30am on weekends) in a city like New Orleans - and especially during an event like Jazz Fest? Pffff. Out of the 12 days I stayed there, I managed to have my "free" breakfast only once. The fire alarms are still going off (twice early one morning after a late night out - annoying to say the least) because there is construction happening on the upper floors of the building (they're building a luxury Fairmont hotel). Housekeeping was patchy. I had to constantly remind them to do something as simple as empty the trash or provide me with fresh towels. The "free" wine and cheese afternoons... Sometimes you'd find nothing and they'd say that they'd run out, hadn't had time to replenish and oh well (they didn't plan accordingly). The laundry was handy but a 28 minute cycle didn't wash very well. As for the front desk staff - definitely need more training and maybe just worldly experience dealing with customers. Some were pleasant enough, others were nonchalant or clearly repeated what they'd learnt in the training manual without knowing the meaning of what they were actually saying. No one seemed efficient, everything took a loooooong time. It took me 45 mins to check out. I would stay here again if I found a reallllllly cheap deal, otherwise, for the hassle I experienced during my nearly 2 week stay, it's not worth it.

I stayed here for 3 nights. I paid for a studio room which was on the 18th floor and it's costly. I'm not complaining that it's costly but for what I paid, I expected more. The room is spacious, no weird smell. The entire place has ONE mirror and it's the bathroom sink. The bathroom floor looks like someone walk dirty shoes all over it(it's the stain from whenever they build the place I guess). I used ONE night valet parking and it's $53/night, upon checking out they were trying to charge me for 3 nights which I denied, and it tooks them a while to call people to figure it out. Our door doesn't open one night and we had to go down to the lobby three times, they exchanged the key card etc. This one young female staff did NOT bother to identify people and just gave away our room key card (initially misheard me saying my room number and still proceeded to gave away the key card to a different room... meaning anyone can come and claim whatever room key card doesn't work, get a key card and access whatever room they want?). Housekeeping came on the 2nd morning, and they left our door OPEN !!! Unbelievable. We can definitely hear everything outside of the room. I asked my friend a few times if it's the toilet flushing sound from other rooms that I heard. Yup! Overall, this is the worst Marriott I have ever stayed at. Also they charged some Expedia fee when I checked out (or a fee that Expedia didn't cover??). There was an older female staff that was nice.

We stayed for a week (tues-tues) for jazz fest and have really nothing bad to say about the hotel! It was clean and spacious. Gym was more than adequate. Had house keeping once and she did a great job. Front desk was polite and greeted us coming and going. The tea time and happy hour with free beer/wine was a nice surprise. Our view was kinda of blah, faced the back of a parking structure but really that was my only disappointment. I would definitely stay again for the price. ( had no water issues and zero fire alarms, just one tornado warning haha) Maybe another person helping prepare breakfast. Took a long time to get a Hot plate, but plenty of grab and go options.

Overall our stay was very good once we got past the hiccup with checking-in. Even though we had paid all fees upfront with Expedia the hotel tried to charge us additional taxes and fees without clearly disclosing why? I had to insist that management do so. At first it was a intense exchange with management insisting they do so. Once, we were in our room, they did reach out with a cooler and more helpful tone. However, I messaged Expedia Help and they were able to resolve the issue, so upon checkout, no additional chargers were requested or require out of pocket.

Studio room was an excellent choice & the hotel was close to everything. Super clean, great views, friendly staff, quiet rooms and felt very safe. An unexpected downside was upon departure, the hotel charged an additional $88 total per room for a 5 night stay on top of Expedia's $112 total tax for both rooms, saying it was an undercharged tax fee.
