Good Service, Cold Room, Thin Walls, A Bit Unclean
My first night was in the lagniappe room that faces the street. Unfortunately that night got down to 46Ā°, I was very cold. The oil radiator was faulty & dangerous. The front legs twisted under it & wouldn't stay up. Fell over while hot and I almost burned myself picking it up. Spark that outlet when plugging in. Front desk offered to put another in, double danger + no heat? No thanks. Couldn't reach the ceiling fan strings. I flipped the switch to turn it off. While it was on it was too cold. While off, the tepid heat from the radiator was not being circulated. I was in a winter tech coat with a heavy sweater underneath, a sports athletic jacket underneath and a tank top under that and was still freezing with thermal leggings on. Front desk switched it immediately, great service, poor equipment. Get a space heater. Brought my own, but no discount. Bedding was clean & the bed was made up well. Blankets are quite light. Room is drafty, not well kept up in re: aesthetic repairs, like your family member's older house that is clean but has seen quite a bit. There's noise from the hostel with people playing music, talking loudly. Guest next door wasn't snoring very loud but I heard everything. Heard footsteps above me but apparently there is no room above. (uhhh? :S) Bathroom was very clean. Only small body towel per bed. Needs extra towels or mat. Extremely slippery tile. I fell. Communal kitchen area was uncleanly. A worker was barefoot for days, was handling linens for rooms.
