The hotel was walking distance to everything, check in was fast, but my favorite was the valet parking associates. They all were very friendly, and super nice. And the valet cashier, was so sweet, she had the prettiest smile. Valet was tremendous.

when we checked in they said they have no record of us. we had confirmation from hotel the night before and I provided the Hotel.com confirmation page. they said the confirmation number was wrong. They found nothing and there was nothing they could do about it. the said to call Hotel.com but it wasnt their fault. I stood at front desk and called Hotel.com. while waiting they said Oh we found it. On Hotel.com, they have my name correct at Mark H thiemens. The marriot had hthiemens/mark. It only took and hour plus of hearing we were wrong to get this far and they blamed me or you. they had the reservation and saw we had breakfast for 2 paid for when we checked out they gave us the bill and it was in excess of $500. They double charged us for breakfast a second time and claimed that they had no record of our breakfast being paid though when we checked in they confirmed that we did as did the breakfast person itsef. It took another hour of them going back and forth with their Motel manager to figure out hat we were right. we asked to speak to the manager, but after asking the manager the comment we got was we can write it in the review The floors were rarely cleaned and the one bed had a 5 inch deep bowl about dinner plate diameter the rooms when we came were freezing and the thermostat didnt work. at 8 pm no one would answer and we only got a robot that didnt understand. it took a very long time before we got any help. outside temp was 33 degrees in new orleans.

When we checked in they very quickly spoke about these $30 gift cards and a $15 food voucher per day. Had to ask several times to explain it, then found out the gift cards work for like only 4 things that cost like 80$ per person. Bathroom was dirty with hair and dirt on the floor, shower took 5 mins to even get warm, shower faucet was dirty. Bed sheets barely fit the bed, no microwave in the room. Fridge was getting up to 47 degrees and was warm. Front desk rarely was there and never answered the phone. Then when we checked out they tacked on a bunch of fees because “Expedia doesn’t make you pay for them” the fees were for the gift cards we didn’t even want. Then I was charged an extra $30 that wasn’t included in the receipt, now I have to call and figure that out. And no breakfast. It looks fancy and has some features but I wasn’t impressed with the cleanliness and extra fees

I stayed on the fifth floor, which was one of the worst experiences I have had with Marriott. One morning at around 7:00 a.m., someone was sitting outside my window and making a phone call. I understand that the fifth floor is adjacent to the swimming pool; however, on that day the temperature was nearly 40°F and clearly not suitable for swimming. Therefore, it appeared that the person was not a hotel guest using the pool, but someone from outside.

Lobby staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room itself was cozy and clean, and we had a fantastic view. However, the freight train that passed thy at nighttime woke us up multiple times each night with its horn. Also, music from the street is loud and constant. We are not light sleepers, but we were awoken every night by noise. We would not stay here again because of this issue. What a shame, as we really enjoyed the rest of the hotel.
