Aggressively subpar

Old and uncomfortable. $40 amenity fee for zero amenities was especially jerky. Rooms were old and worn, with flickering lights and loud and inefficient window AC. Had to call housekeeping to get cups for the room. Hallways are dark and creepy. Bed is uncomfortable. Coffee shop downstairs and bell hop were great but this place is a rip off.

The hotel was really outdated and some of the staff was really rude. Others were very pleasant and had a great attitude like Hero. The facilities are really outdated and the hotel needs some TLC but it has a charm about it.

Great lobby and common areas on the ground floor. Convenient location. Room was surprisingly big for NYC (and comfortable) but decor and hallways were a little dated. All in all enjoyed the stay and would come here again.

Always love this hotel. The views are horrible (ha) but the rooms are super cute and beds are comfy. Really nice spot if you need something budget-friendly and close to Flatiron/Nomad neighborhoods - - or you are a subway rider as it has the main lines really close.

This hotel was clean and efficient. While the room was small, it still worked for 3 people. The sink was really tiny, but we made due. The beds, floor, and bathroom felt clean which is all I can ask at a hotel! The staff was helpful and the cafe in the lobby was great for coffee and breakfast. This was short trip so we didn't get to explore as much as I would've liked, but it was very enjoyable nonetheless.

I selected Freehand for proximity to business meetings and room rate. What an eclectic and fun hotel!! Staff is efficient, professional and helpful. Rooms were minimal but perfect for me.
