The room was fine, sort of old school but I could appreciate the kitsch. However, I returned from a night out at 12:30, and asked how to get a cocktail to take to my room. After advertising multiple bars in the hotel, this seems an easy ask. There is apparently no way: there are no drinks in the mini fridge, the restaurants are closed, and the douchey nightclub doesn’t allow you to take drinks out (and would require me to stand in line!!). Completely unacceptable for a weekend hotel stay. And I got attitude from the front desk. And then! I walked to 7 Eleven in the rain and bought snacks and a beer (since there is nothing at this hotel). Soaked, I go back to my room and get into my pjs. I find I need a bottle opener for the beer… nope! They won’t bring me a bottle opener! Jeez. Will never stay here again.

Convenient location, cool vibe
We were in NYC visiting family, and this was a great location for us. The hotel has a very cool vibe and awesome playlist, and the connected cafe was convenient. Just some things of note: There isn't parking at the hotel, so you'll be doing a quick unload at the front entrance. The style is very cool, but also rather dark, including our room, so if your eyesight needs good lighting just be aware. We had a light bulb missing in our room and reported it right away, but it was not replaced during our stay. If you're staying in the bunk bed room it is much hotter on the top bunk than the bottom, as the heating vent is on the ceiling. Housekeeping did a great job and were very friendly. We had to add another day to the beginning of our reservation, so we had to just make an additional reservation for that day. I tried multiple times to contact the hotel before our trip by phone, leaving my number for a call back, email, but was unable to reach anyone. That being said, when we checked in they were able to make sure we kept the same room the whole time through both reservations. We felt this was a good value and we would stay here again.
