The breakfast and the room were excellent. We could have used 2 more pillows per bed. There were only 2 pillows per bed. Also, we booked for 5 people but only had 2 wash cloths and 4 towels. Eeks!

The staff during check-in and check out were informative & friendly. The service desk staff provided assistance notifying maintenance who delivered an immediate response. The buffet was good for both days with an large selection of american foods. The room was clean and housekeeping was available in the am if additional supplies were needed. The housekeeping workers as well as the supervisor made sure you were comfortable and your needs were met. Overall I was quite impressed as this was my first time at RIU plaza times square. I would definitely use this hotel for my next precruise accommodations.

Great stay at Riu Times Square. Happy to see the same service, friendliness and quality features we enjoyed at other Riu properties around the world. This stay was very expensive though and room was small, but that’s NYC!

Audacious Security

Hotel has great location! Staff on the other hand, not so much. Security decided to stalk me and harass me about being a guest and even went as far as to tell me “this is my house” then proceed to ask me to leave. Although, I was in the process of checking out and waiting for my black truck driver to arrive. Thank god another employee intervened! I did not like that the toilets were not soft close. The aesthetics in the rooms are totally outdated! Heater was unable to heat room. Also, stay away from windows as they open inwards below waist level with a complete opening for whatever may pass through. Terrible concept remind you I was on the 16th floor. This was a totally step down from recently departed hotel. Which was MOXY East Village and The Hoxton! Complete cuts above from this RIU brand. I will never use their hotel again. Finally, the valet and parking situation was a distraer. There no one to park and the hotel also doesn’t have its own parking which is always a deterrent from any hotel that I chose to travel to for purposes of leisure. I never venture to hotels that do not provide the bare necessities of feeling like a home away from home. After all it is travel for pleasure!
