Nice stay!

The rooms are well kept, very clean. All amenities are present and rooms are cleaned daily. WiFi was wonderful. The hotel is right next to a metro station, and in a very lovely part of central New York. Lots of food options. Reception and service are brilliant. The hotel is undergoing a renovation, which made navigating it very confusing!!! It is a huge hotel, and I kept getting lost finding which elevator goes where and which entrance is where!! A bit more sign posting might help. The concierge was lovely.

The hotel is under renovations and service is awful. Our feet were black from walking on the carpet, brown water comes out of sink and tub. Mandatory fee of 70/night was added without knowledge and they promoted perks like bike rentals and Guggenheim tickets to justify the fees… but then we are told they haven’t had any in a long time when we went to redeem after waiting for an hour to speak with concierge. Very surprised for a Sheraton marquis location how run down the hotel was, poorly staffed it was. Simple things like cleaning service giving water bottles in the room is not an option and you need to go redeem vouchers just for water…. Highly DO NOT recommend this property.

The most horrible experience I have ever had at a Sheraton-brand hotel—truly unacceptable from check-in to check-out. The moment I stepped into my room, it felt like I had checked into a run-down roadside motel, yet I was paying the price of a luxury stay. The furniture was outdated, the air reeked of a murky odor, and to make matters worse, there was no internet service at all. I initially tried to cancel my reservation, but my request was denied. It wasn’t until Expedia intervened that I was offered a room change. The hotel’s manager, Tyler, personally assured me that if I agreed to keep my stay, I would not incur any extra daily fees or charges. I was only in New York for two nights, yet I spent half of my first day battling to fix what should never have been an issue in the first place. With limited time, I had no choice but to accept the situation as it was. At checkout, I specifically requested a receipt, which showed a zero balance and no additional charges. I was told the $210+ security deposit hold on my card would be released, as I owed nothing. To my shock, not only was the $210+ deposit actually charged to my credit card, but the very next day, an additional $115 was also charged—bringing the total to $328.57 on top of the full room cost I had already paid. The staff members were rude and all seemed frustrated. The parking was very expensive to be forced to leave my car or pay more money. The rooms furniture needs to be updated, my room bath tub had mold and made unpleasant to shower. I didn't want to step into that tub. There was no mini refrigerator in the room. The windows were beyond need of a cleaning. There was not enough towel to bathe with per person.
