The front desk staff was not well trained or attentive. We waited several hours after check in for our room and never received a text (as promised). The following day we called to request a late check out and were left on hold for well over 15 minutes. When someone finally answered, they disconnected the line. The location was good but the service left much to be desired. I wouldn't recommend it.

The line up to check in was ridiculous! Long and super slow, even though we’d checked in at 10am, provided ID and a credit card, we had to stay in line with likely over a hundred people for over an hour to get our keys. Also, we put our bags in the concierge so we could enjoy our day and we were charged $6 USD per bag! So disappointed! If I could give it a zero, I would!

Elevators were down and took up to 30 minutes to get up or down from your room, only allowed to use freight elevators at certain times. As a platinum elite member I was told I could not have a late checkout. Last year we had a fridge, this year we did not and I attempted To call down to ask for one and found out our phone did not have a cord. Called from My cellphone and was told they could bring one for $25; agreed to have one brought to the room and then went and bought snacks. Upon our return we had no fridge so I went back down stairs because our phone was still not fixed and was told they ran out of fridges even though I was promised one. So we lost $80 in cold food. Our phone was also never fixed, even though we were told twice it would be fixed the next day. Last two days we had no hot water for showers.

The location was great and the lady who checked us in was friendly and inviting. I've stayed there before (a few years ago) and was surprised to find the lobby area undergoing renovation, leading to a very cold (literally cold) and sterile atmosphere. At least they still had a bar (though it was not very inviting nor open late). The elevator situation is terrible - long waits going up and down. We found ourselves waiting close to 10 minutes, multiple times, for an elevator to our floor. The rooms seem very dated, there is a microwave in the elevator area for use (weird), and the toiletries are subpar. As a frequent traveler and someone who has stayed at several Sheraton properties across the world, this Times Square location is truly disappointing in its current state.

I am not one who usually writes a review or gives feedback. But I feel the need to address some of the issues we had with staying at your hotel. When planning a NYC Christmas vacation (one like you see in the movies) I understand there is a reality, but I feel that your location fell short on it's holiday cheer. Minimal decorations, lack of attention to lobby area, and it's accommodating areas. COLD the minute you walk in and the minute you step out of the elevators- which worked only part of the time. I was cold anyway since we had NO hot water for 2 of the 3 days we stayed. I would think that a Sheraton/Marriott could afford to adjust the air flow- back blowers and such to help keep their patrons warm. Then the "vouchers" for coffees/drinks. If you could get a drink that would be nice. Spent 2 hours in the bar the first night and got one drink thanks to going up to bar after waiting. Then in the morning for coffee??? that was a joke. Seriously- a "Starbucks". I am sorry but I would have paid $200-$300 more to just be warm, enjoy the decor, and have a relaxing drink. But I do understand that it is hard to find help- this in NO WAY a reflection on the staff that we dealt with, as everyone from the bar, registration, cleaning and maintenance staff were wonderful. It is more on how the "Brand Name" you are carrying should put more on your budget to charge the rates they do for a holiday get away. We are a family of 7 that traveled to NYC from Nebraska. It was a horrible stay. All the elevators were down, not working how to use the service elevator wait for hours to get up to our room when we first got checked in and wait for hours to get off the floor to get downstairs to go do events. Late to all my events I had to be at will never stay there again.

This stay was completely unacceptable, especially for families. Our room had no hot water, and the heat and air conditioning did not work—the temperature swung between freezing cold and smoldering hot with no way to control it. We were traveling with a newborn, which made the situation even more stressful and unsafe. To make matters worse, most of the elevators were down, making it extremely difficult to get around the hotel with a baby and our belongings. We reported these issues, but nothing was resolved during our stay. A hotel should be able to provide basic necessities like hot water, a functioning HVAC system, and working elevators—especially when charging full price. We would not stay here again and do not recommend this hotel, particularly for families or anyone traveling with children.

Room was clean, but definitely needs attention…scratched, worn out furniture and bathroom fixtures. Shower was either blazing hot or ice cold…no in between. Not enough elevators and staff to handle the amount of guests…15 minute wait times for an elevator, and some not working at all. Check-in and bag-check lines at least 20+ deep. Staff was friendly and tried to be helpful, just not enough of them. We will not book here again.
