An ok hotel within walking distance to the falls.

Location of the hotel is great! Front Desk staff and cleaning staff good. But the property itself is very old. Only one small elevator serving eight floors for basement. Breakfast place so clumsy and small. You must eat in 20 minutes and ask for hot cups. Hardworking staff but the owners may have stopped caring for good clean rooms with decent beds. No hooks in the bathroom to hang anything. No extra table to eat of you order in food during rain or something. Sofa chairs and carpets need to be shampood. Do not walk barefoot on the floors. Place is within walking distance to any choice of cuisine for you and that is the best thing. Again, staff is nice and very kind. Just the property and rooms were not at par.

Property is in a great location and we loved the balcony. But a river view room means from between several buildings down the street, and there is so much mist from the falls, you can’t see the river anyway. We had a good view of the fireworks though. Room was clean, spacious with a fridge. The air conditioning was fantastic, but there is none in the moldy-smelling hallways or very run-down elevator. By the way, there is only one very small elevator for the entire building so good luck getting on at breakfast and checkout times. We ended up carrying our luggage down six flights of stairs. Oddly enough, there are also four steps when you first come into the property, which is no fun if you’re carrying heavy luggage or if you have mobility issues. Bizarre design choice. Breakfast was OK, but because it’s right next to the pool, there is a very unappetizing chlorine smell. There is also a tip jar for the kitchen staff which we didn’t anticipate, so we didn’t bring any cash down with us. Keep that in mind. The worst part of the stay though was the front reception staff. Miserable and rude, especially the woman who checked us in. No smiles, no welcome, just snarkiness as if we were bothering her when we asked a couple questions at check-in. Anytime we came into the hotel and saw the front staff, they never smiled, said hello or acknowledged us in any way. For that reason alone, not sure we’d stay here again. Certainly not for over $400/night. There are far better options.

Ask the front desk not give you a room at level 1

This hotel gave me a room in level 1 floor. The hall way of the level 1 filled terrible smell that might be from the swimming pool. I also did not feel safe in the room.

We stayed here recently and I must say it was not a great experience. Firstly, there was a huge lineup of people to have breakfast, as people had to spend a lot of time making their own stuff like Waffles (which I believe should be pre made or rather not have them). The timing was 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM and you have to wait outside in the hallway to get a seat. As our room was on the ground floor, there was chaos everyday in the hallway during breakfast hours. I must say very poorly arranged. Secondly, we had booked a room with a balcony, but we were allotted a room on the ground floor, where there was no balcony. Instead it lead directly into the lawn outside. Also, the TV channels were very limited and basic programs. We had to reach out to the reception to get a technician to reset the program. Yet the list of channels were very outdated. In today’s world of OTT and entertainment, I think the hotels should upgrade themselves, and not just stick to primitive channels/shows.
