Great stay in Little Italy

Very comfortable 2 bdrm 2 bathroom apartment. Checkin was quick and easy. Quiet, clean, safe building. Comfortable beds. Walkable area. Located in Little Italy with lots of restaurants within a block. Confectionery close by for grocery items. Close to Commissioners park and Dow’s lake. Short drive to museums & Parliament Hill.

There were some really great things about staying at Soho Champagne, and some not so great things. Let's start with the good...we loved the location - close to Dow Lake and Little Italy. There are tons of great restaurants within walking distance. It was dog friendly. Our apartment was very nice - modern, clean and plenty of room! The bad part was the lack of communication. I was told I'd have check-in instructions 24 hours in advance. I didn't. I had to contact Expedia who contacted the property to get instructions. Only then did they come. The person behind the front desk was not friendly. He was efficient and all business, and wouldn't answer questions until he had completed his whole speel. He did offer check-in information, but not in a friendly way at all. I felt like I was bothering him. We wanted to park our car in the lot below the building, but we had a cartop carrier on it, and the same guy at check-in came out and very firmly and explicitly told us not to try to park there. .Luckily there is a surface lot next to the Soho Residences, and as long as you're not moving your car, it's actually cheaper than using the Soho Underground lot. When I left, Soho Champagne charged my card again for $25 with no explanation. I had to ask once again for an invoice that was supposed to have come immediately after we checked out. All in all, the lack of communication put a damper on our stay.

The air conditioner in the unit was not working so the unit was very hot. Particularly sleeping at night. Also the kettle was broken. Otherwise the unit was beautiful. I would stay there again and highly recommend to my friends and family.

Great! But where is my Bill?

I had to extend my stay by a day for business. SoHo was able to do that, which was great. However, I have requested the receipt for the extra day a few times now and have not received a reply. I need the receipt so that I can claim the business expense.

I do not recommend poor in hospitality. I stayed in a room where there was lots of dog hair or cat who knows not up to my standards. Overall, I did not like my stay here, so do it at your own risk. And their garage door hit my car. They did not do anything about it and were very rude towards me. Terrible stay I do not recommend.

The condition of the suit is good, the washing machine is dirty, and the mattress of the bed was really uncomfortable compare with any other hotels my wife and I stayed. Could not sleep properly due to the sunk mattress surface, and both our back hurts after sleeping. If this can be solved than overall is good.
