We spent four fabulously comfortable and decadent four nights at The Charles in Pacific Grove. The rooms are beautifully decorated with a nod to the age of the building (1904). Historic photographs of Pacific Grove line the hallways. The lounge is comfortable and the late afternoon wine and snacks added to the conviviality. Breakfasts were varied and fresh. The breads and quiche were yummy. The beds are soft, the sheets cotton, and at night you can hear the faint crash of the waves on the shore. The hotel is in walking distance to an array of restaurants. The house-managers and staff were very welcoming and friendly. We will come again if we come back to the area.

Elegance and comfort…this gorgeous home superseded all my bed and breakfast experiences in years! Tastefully decorated with lavish decor makes one feel like royalty! The wine and cheese reception, warm chocolate chip cookies, and friendliness of the staff let me know my stay was going to be a treat. Lovely music playing softly in the gorgeous living room provided a relaxing evening of reading. I spent awhile on the porch, listening to the fountain, overlooking the charming town that is Pacific Grove. Best breakfast ever…cappuccino, quiche, avocado toast and so much more! I didn’t want to leave and lingered a few hours just to take it all in.

The Staff was top notch! Paula the innkeeper was friendly, welcoming, knew the area well. In a word she was awesome. The room was clean and well maintained! Parking was off the street, and the building is located in a very safe neighborhood just a short walk from Lighthouse Road, the main shopping area.

Our stay was very pleasant. The atmosphere at the Inn is warm and friendly. There is a wine and cheese reception in the evening, but we were in the mood for dinner. The innkeeper gave us excellent suggestions and we found a great place within walking distance. Our room was spacious and comfortable. I will definitely stay at the inn again.

This inn is beautifully restored! The furnishings and details are amazing! Breakfast was delicious and the cookies, wine, and charcuterie in the evening were a nice added touch. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were clean. Staff was warm, friendly, and welcoming. Parking lot is a added plus.
