Nice property. USA prices but not surprising if you book a mariott in Panama. If I had planned better, I would have stayed in a more unique place. Seems like more of an event hotel. Cava bar had some awesome cocktails and Misi food and wine was great.

The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. The pool area was beautiful as were the views from our room. The food was good and there were restaurants close by. The only downside was there were renovations happening throughout not only this hotel but the buildings next door so whether inside or outside you could hear the construction crews.

I recently stayed at the JW Marriott Panama and had a mixed experience. When we checked in, I realized that the room we were given had no ocean view at all, even though I had paid for a partial ocean view. The hallway leading to the room had a strong moldy smell, and the room itself also had a noticeable moldy odor. I immediately called customer service to share my concerns, and to their credit, they responded quickly—someone came up in less than five minutes and switched us to another room. The new room was much better and did have the partial ocean view we paid for. It was comfortable overall, though the hallway still smelled like a wet rug with a bit of a musty scent. Unfortunately, during our stay, we did see a small roach run across the room, which my husband tried to kill. For a hotel that’s rated five stars, that was disappointing. The property itself is beautiful, and the pool area was very nice. However, the hotel could really benefit from some upgrades and better maintenance to live up to its five-star reputation. Overall, it was an okay stay—not terrible, but not quite worth the hype.

Like: pool area is really nice. Staff is very friendly. Dislike: The property needs maintenance and updates. Carpets smell and you can see stains and broken things around the hotel. BE AWARE!!!! The rooftop Panaviera is CLOSED under maintenance. This was the number 1 reason we chose Marriot over others. They don’t tell you until you get there Parking is very expensive if you are renting a car. Get ready to pay between 20-40 daily. One night our ticket got lost and we have to pay $20 to get it replaced plus the parking time.

Noise from the construction was a distraction. Walking outside in front of the property smelled of urine. Upstairs someone’s dog pooped on the fake grass and left it there. Smokers are treated like 2nd class citizens. There’s a terrace area for smoker without any services. I like to sit back, relax and enjoy a cigar and scotch while watching sports or something.
