We stayed at this hotel because of the proximity to Carnegie Mellon where we were going for an admission tour. We won't stay here again, it was over priced and pretty run down. There was not anything that really stood out as positive about the hotel or our stay.

Overall good experience. Central location. First room we had was without heat. Had to switch rooms. Second room had heat but had some broken doors and cabinets. Staff were always helpful and gave us a room close to our original room. Pool was clean and warm despite cold weather.

The woman who checked me in last night made the check in process more difficult for me. She wasn’t the best at communicating everything about my stay and her written communication made me very confused on which room I was staying in. I also didn’t realize how expensive the incidental cost was and she charged my card 3 times when it was approved all 3 times. We had to get the manager involved to help facilitate the issue and to make sure I was not being charged triple for the cost. But, I did enjoy my stay overall and everyone was very kind. My room was very clean and spacious. The check out process was seamless.

Everything was terrible, starting from inexperienced staff to rude and unhelpful (except for one). Found long hairs in the bathroom, short ones on the sheets. Very bad experience overall.

Hotel overall was very nice. The breakfast wasn’t as good as other Hyatts I’ve stayed at though. The fresh and frozen fruit set out was unappealing and the potatoes were awful. Coffee and oatmeal was good. This is a great location if you are visiting hospitalized family members at UPMC Shadyside. About a 4 min walk.

The lower-level lobby feels appropriate, but the rooms are dated and smelled musty. My room was never cleaned during my stay, and I felt it was not cleaned when I arrived. Oddly, I did not see a maid service during my multiple day stay and got my towels from the front desk. Upper elevators and hallways smell of smoke and marijuana on each day I stayed. The breakfast was appropriate (hot buffet) and the pool and exercise room was small, but it was a plus. After staying here, the price seemed high for what you can get elsewhere, plus there is a daily 24.0 parking fee.
