Close to everything yes, horrible location though because the street is really dirty, smells really bad, the noise from nightclubs it is worse than expected. The hotel provides ear plugs but it does not really help. The room also smells really bad, and towels smell even worse like they are not even washed. Maybe is the water or that they are really old.

Dear Expedia for TD management, I am writing regarding our recent stay at Hyatt Centric Playa del Carmen, which fell far below the standards expected of a five-star property. Upon arrival, as we exited the elevator to access our room (room 212, directly across the hall), we were met with a strong sewer-like odor. We initially tried to overlook it, but the smell persisted throughout the evening. Around 2–3 a.m., the odor entered our room—apparently through the vents—waking us from sleep due to its intensity. At 8:00 a.m., we contacted reception and were told someone would come immediately; no one did. Staff suggested this was a new issue, yet plug-in air fresheners in the hallway indicated otherwise. At 11:00 a.m., after calling again, we were told another room would be arranged. Shortly after noon, with nothing resolved, I went to the front desk. Only then did staff acknowledge an ongoing odor issue in that building and move us to a sister property a few blocks away. At 1:00 p.m., we had to pack and relocate. We later met two couples in rooms 212 and 214 who experienced the same odour issue. As parents who arranged a brief three-night getaway, losing a night’s sleep and half a day of our trip significantly impacted our stay. We are disappointed both by the condition of the room and the initial denial of the issue, and wasting our time to argue and relocate… Given the circumstances, we respectfully request full reimbursement. The rooms are fine, the staff is lovely! Once your taxi finally finds the hotel the have to make a 30 point turn to turn around on the one way street, you get to carry your bags up tile stairs so you can sit down for the check-in, it was interesting watching parents with strollers manage the stairs. One of those places for me when the pictures are better than the reality.

Liked: central location, cleanliness, friendly staff, large balcony with table, lounger, roof top pool with large sunbeds, attentive staff ( who are there but never bothers you ) access to Beach House with beach front sunbeds. Disliked: late night noise from the 5th Avenue bars, restaurants ( going on until 2 AM & on one night until 4:30 AM ) Ask for rooms to the rear, or to the side without balconies for less noise.

The experience was great. The stuff at the reception was amazing in the room was great. The cleaning was great. The only thing was that at the pool. The service was very very slow and we had to basically serve ourselves, but all the rest was perfect.

Absolutely loved the floorplan. We got the last time we visited in December. The room was awesome. It had a hot tub off the bathroom outside on the patio that you could walk directly back through as well as the other patio door. They have a very lovely rooftop pool with a bar and restaurant plenty of chairs and seating. Perfect if you want to be right in the middle of all the excitement..
