Most of the staff were very nice. There were a few bartenders who mocked me for my Spanish speaking efforts. The beds were rock hard, like sleeping on the floor. The food options between breakfast and dinner were VERY limited. The wildlife on property was a nuisance—an infestation if you will. There is a shuttle to the beach, that runs every 30 minutes, so that was nice.

Loved my stay the staff was super friendly. Although, the property bed was more on the firm stiff side and the shower temperature was set on cool vs hot. I recently stayed at this hotel resort and had a mixed experience. On the plus side, the service was amazing from start to finish. We received a welcome drink, and the guest services team was super helpful. However, the food was just okay - nothing spectacular. One thing to note is that the resort isn't directly on the beach, and you'll need to catch a shuttle that runs on a limited schedule. The pool was nice, but the hours were restricted, and I wished it was open 24/7 with swim-at-your-own-risk signs. The rooms were clean but basic, and the beds were extremely hard - almost rock-hard. The bathrooms were decent, but nothing to write home about. Overall, the pros outweighed the cons for us, but I’d recommend being aware of these details before booking. I met some great people while traveling here. I would book again if needed to make a last minute trip.

Horrible hotel. First is was dirty, towels smell, roaches in the room, dirty pool. Then the buffet is garbage with the same things you don’t want to eat all the time and the people that work there are rude, wont even let you take a bowl of fruit to your room without harrassing you about it and asking you questions that don’t apply. One of the things I like es was that they have cats but they ruined that because I think my wife and I are the only ones who des then for 2 weeks except for when I specifically asked the staff to feed them and they acted like I was crazy. Thats maybe half of the horrible stuff. Any other hotel is better, don’t waist your money

Food choices were horrible! Check in was great, thereafter was horrible! Wait staff could not understand English. The only waitstaff was great were Delfino and Santos at the bar. Everyone else was not great! Our anniversary ended up horribly due to us not being accommodated for the restaurant. We kept trying to make a reservation but were told we couldn’t and then when we tried to get food, was told we needed a reservation! Our first experience at a RIU resort was not great at all!

Water in the pool by restaurants wasn’t clear enough and water in the pool in quite area was dirty a lot of bags floatingin the water and stuff from the trees when we got checked in in the room I was shocked The area when the ceiling fan touched the ceiling was full of webs and dirt. The lamp on the wall by the bed was hanging out, was broken. The pictures on the wall they were dirty, and the sheets were dirty. The extra blankets was stiffed as a linen fabric very Very old the view from the room was like Bumped area a lot of pieces of the Building walls. When I booked this resort it did show its four stars resorts I don’t think so!! Dose not has even too it’s very poor. We had to drive to the beach every day about 15-20 minutes I’m very old buses, and we weren’t able to swim in the sea because of seaweed covered almost half of the Beach because nobody Took care of it . Seaweed season is all over Caribbean area. Any other resorts take care of it we weren’t even able noticed that it is seaweed season. In this resort the smell terrible smell was all around because of the seaweed laying on the beach forever and no access to the sea to swim at all I am very disappointed. I would never recommend to anybody to visit this resort. We paid 600 per person for three days and it was price on sale. I don’t understand the pictures on Expedia showing beautiful rooms and area all these pictures do not match even in 1/3 of a reality. Stuff of the hotel is very very nice.

Pros: Food - was excellent, Staff - Very helpful and understanding Entertainment - Was done before it got too late Room Attendants - Most were very good and went the extra mile for the guests. The Shop Clerk inside the hotel was very helpful. Cons - There were two pools - One was kept great and the other quiet pool had leaves and particulars in the water. There was no direct access to the peach and you have to take a bus to get to it. That was a bummer. Some of the Front Desk Clerks were not too sure as to what to do in certain situations. They were not proactive. The toilet bowl had a crack in it. One of the two cups left in my room to make coffee was chipped. Under the bed was not properly cleaned prior to our arrival. Some of the guests were not on their best behavior around other guests. Police Presence was required on one of the evenings we were there.

Disappointing Stay – Would Not Recommend I stayed at Hotel Riu Lupita for 7 nights on the all-inclusive plan, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The hotel is clearly outdated — the rooms smelled terrible, and despite their attempt to mask it with eucalyptus, the odor never went away. The mattresses were old and extremely uncomfortable, making it hard to get a decent night’s sleep. The food was by far one of the worst parts. I actually got sick during my stay. Meals were often bland, poorly prepared, and seemed reheated — especially at the beach club, where even a basic burger was inedible. Speaking of the beach, the listing is quite misleading. The hotel is not on the beach — you need to take a 15-minute shuttle to get there, which wasn’t what I expected when booking. Drinks were no better. The alcohol used was extremely low quality, and there were no fresh ingredients in sight. Even the lime tasted artificial. The entertainment was mediocre at best, lacking energy and variety. The only positive I can mention is the staff. The people working there were incredibly sweet, kind, and hardworking. It’s unfortunate they have to work under such poor conditions — they truly deserve better. Overall, I would not return or recommend this hotel to others. There are far better options in the area for a similar price.

the food was amazing I liked the relaxed atmosphere I like that the rules were not over the top restrictive and and the staff were great especially the entertainment staff and main bartenders. The silent disco was so fun so was the foam party. The night club/disco only played Spanish music shower tiles were really nice in my room and the ac was good my bed was comfortable and the drinks were good.
