The Neighborhood:
Commonly known as “Foodie Row,” the Hawthorne/Buckman District places you within walking distance of a wide variety of top-notch local flavors. Make new friends over a bite at the Cartopia food cart pod, or share a pie at Apizza Scholls.
But Portland isn't just for foodies. Hawthorne boasts a vibrant indie spirit, with plenty of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques to explore in this hipster haven. Catch a movie at Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews. If bar hopping through neighborhoods isn’t your idea of recreation, head up to Mt. Tabor, a 176-acre city park on top of a dormant volcano vent, where you’ll find miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city.
Getting Around:
🚶 Walking — The Belmont and Hawthorne corridors are among Portland's most vibrant, with an eclectic mix of restaurants, vintage shops, cafes, and bars all within walking distance.
🚌 Bus — TriMet Route 15 (Belmont) runs along Belmont Street with service toward downtown; check current stops and schedules. Route 14 (Hawthorne) is also nearby.
🚲 Biking — Check current BIKETOWN bike-share locations and plan your route using Portland’s bike lanes.
🚗 Driving — Free street parking available (read signs for restrictions). Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) pickup times vary.
✈️ Airport — Plan your trip to PDX by car or transit, allowing for traffic and current schedules.
Other Things to Note:
This is a basement unit reached by exterior stairs. The top unit is frequently rented out to other guests.
