Nice historic hotel and building in downtown Portland. Walkable to most things in downtown and easy access to local transportation. Comfortable bed and dishes/fridge/ microwave provided. (No coffee that I noticed in the room, it a coffee machine.) The room is a bit dated and the bathroom is very small, but overall the room was comfortable and unique.

The hotel is conveniently located near Powell’s Bookstore, and easy walking distance to the waterfront and Pioneer Square. The room was nicely decorated and had everything we needed. The friendly front desk staff was efficient at check in and made us feel at home.

**Smelled like mushrooms** stayed here a few times since 2018 and things are a little different. Room: smelled like mushrooms. Went to smell our other room and it was fine… so what was going on in our room. Staff did what they could to make the smell go away. lol! Some of it still lingered all night. Lighting was dim in the bathroom. Amenities: Still using Beekman products which is awesome but I just remember having things in the room and not having to ask for it, like coffee. Evening reception: did I miss this? No mention of it when we checked in. Valet: I swear they had it before or that we parked across the street at the lot but wow, their underground parking was terrifying and narrow. I wouldn’t trust a guest to park their car down there. Overall: we still find the Mark Spencer comfortable post Covid. We’ll be back.

The hotel was clean and quiet. Outside, the vagrants were threatening and destructive. Make sure you use the gated parking garage and be vigilant walking around the block. Will definitely be back when in Portland.

I have had many friends stay at this property and finally decided to give it a spin. It was absolutely charming and friendly. The location was absolutely fantastic. We loved the restaurant options as well. Our room was so clean and we loved the decor having a small kitchenette was a game changer as well. We will definitely be back.

The property was very well maintained and the rooms were very spacious and beds extremely comfortable. Our room had an interesting scent when we first entered but I guess the previous guest had some leftovers that lingered. Overall it was really good property and the parking was convenient as it was just across the street. If you need a spot to many locations in Portland this is a good place.

I don’t like the fact that they don’t have valet parking but it’s still $30. It’s self park. If you have a large vehicle parking is rough. For example Toyota tundra. It doesn’t fit in their normal garage. Also the shower was pretty dirty. The tiles and grout look like they aren’t bleached and were black. The wine social was a nice touch. And the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel. Good location

Hotel staff was friendly and efficient. Hotel is clean. Rooms are updated. Central location for walking. Excellent restaurants and shopping close by. Big clean and nicely tiled shower with no shelf to put anything. Bed was comfortable. Parking is tight for any larger vehicles in that part of town.
