My request/complain regarding AC in my room was handled very poorly and unprofessionally by the manager on duty.

Not the most ideal hotel, they advertise 6 restaurants and 11 bars I believe but only 2 restaurants were open and only 1 - 2 bars at a time were open. The bars are only open from 10-11 which is not ideal for a bunch of young people who would like to party. The swim up bar kinda lacked, they didn’t have ice half the time, the rooms were very well taken care of, but this hotel lacks entertainment and excitement. BE CAREFUL OF THE EXCUSION GUY LOIDY- he is a SCAMMER!!!!! I paid a lot of money to go out on excursions and my friend ended up getting drugged on one of them and later we found out that Loidy purposely sent us on the wrong excursions in order to make a profit. DO NOT TRUST HIM.

So I think our issue is primarily with expedia but also with iberostar. The property should have been shut down during renovations instead of having most of the facilities closed. ESPECIALLY - we should have been informed of these minimalist facilities when booking as I would have never finalized if I had of been informed. Food quality was exceptional but no buffet and repetitive food choices and confusing alternating venues. Beach front is non existent basically and in the middle of nowhere with only expensive taxis and Ubers to get anywhere. Alcohol unavailable anywhere after 11 PM!!!! Ridiculous. Zero evening entertainment nearly all the nights we were there ( DJ does NOT COUNT as a ‘show’). No hot water for the fist half of our stay. Gym was unavailable two of the days I was there and I SPECIFICALLY look for that and is very important to me. Especially when nothing is walkable for alternatives. The spa is extremely pricey but the service is above and beyond if you want to treat yourself. The staff was our only saving Grace here. Janet and Freddy went out of their way with the rest of the staff to try and appease our disappointments. Some of the exceptional Staff members- ALEXA, JAICO, CRUZ, ALFREDO AND OUR LOVE CEIDI!! Thank you everyone. Coffee bar closed ( another one of my reasons for returning) , carribean restaurant closed ( my favourite venue). Just super disappointing.

-Take every recent bad review with a grain of salt. Yes, they are renovating & some bars are closed BUT, we LOVED our stay & most notably, the staff. -We were greeted at the door with champagne by friendly & professional staff. Check in was quick, informative & easy. -The lobby smelled amazing btw. Our room was clean, modern, and comfortable. They provided robes, towels, water, tooth paste, tooth brushes, shower gel, conditioner, shampoo, soap.. sodas, beer, coffee, tea etc. -We will definitely return & can’t wait to see what is new after all the renovations are completed. -1.The food was incredible.. every meal was delicious. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and room service.. there wasn’t a single item I didn’t enjoy. I am pescatarian & they catered to my diet at every meal (the staff made sure to ask every time if I had any food allergies/diet restrictions). 2. Room service & daily room maintenance..the menu for room service is easy to order from & lots of options to choose from. The house keeping was great - room was always replenished with a freshly made bed, towels, water & other refreshments. 3. The entire resort was very clean. Beautiful landscaping & the grounds were being maintained 24/7. 4. They had daily games at the pool & evening activities (shout out Luis - crazy games!) 5. The service & hospitality are the best I’ve ever experienced. The staff alone made our trip amazing - everyone was incredible & went above & beyond any chance they had.

Resort was amazing. Italian restaurant was very nice for breakfast and dinner. Mexican not so much. Night timw you could see alot of mosquitoes there. Also they should bave more than just 2 restaurants open all the time. Other suggestion would be food options bh bar area.. They did hamburgers one day and Paella one day. People should be bale to orded to the pool if they want to since there is only ome swim up bar. Staff was extremely friendly. Activities guy for fun. Marcelo at the front door is very njce. Bar staff kept refilling our drinks.

Even if it was the low season, the hotel did not have enough entertainment for the guest. The bar closed at 11pm every night, which is way too early!...we went to a local bar twice during our stay to find some entertainment. I will say that the food was great, the rooms were nice and clean, and the staff very friendly.

Resort was under construction. Nothing to do. We moved to another resort after two days. Staff was super nice, room was clean. Food was delicious. When resort is done and everything is open it will be fantastic. I would recommend golf carts to rent or a pick up service. It’s a lot of walking for an older person.

The food was AMAZING, I have never had resort food so good. The room was beautiful as well as the views. But the name was confusing. My driver was confused as well as me. The resort is under new owners so it is very confusing the old name is Palmar beach resort. The resort has so much potential but at this time there is not much to do. If you are looking for any form of a party scene this is not it. If you are looking for a super relaxing non eventful time this is the place for you. The activities guy was so nice and attempted to get people to play games and always made sure we knew if there was any events. I really enjoyed all of the staff. I am willing to go back again in a few years.

The road leading to the hotel has way too many big bumps making the drive uncomfortable. 2 main dining out of the 4 restaurants on site were closed but we were not informed prior to booking which impacted our experience. Found a live insect in my food at the Mexican restaurant which makes me question the cleanliness in the back kitchens.

Very disappointed with our stay. The site advertised 6 restaurants and only 2 were available. 24 hour room service was 11am to 11pm. At 11 they stopped serving alcohol and actually kicked us out of the bar. Staff was rude. Our room took forever to get considering there was maybe 50 people on the whole resort. Our first room had a bunch of lizards which i was ok with since it is Mexico but there was a huge cockroach living in the sofa. The A/C also broke down. The whole resort is under construction which had very early morning banging. The beach was non existent. The only positive was the food. Although it was extremely limited it was delicious. Do not stay here. Not worth the money.

Absolutely 0 complaints about the food because everything was super good and they have several options. They are doing construction on the property but however once they are complete it’s going to add more beauty than it already has. Can’t wait to return.

We booked an ocean view suite and we didn't get that. We were told that we couldn't get that because it was limited. They wanted passports and not an id. Staff was amazing. The facility was under construction. Only 2 restaurants are open. No valet at nights. Hours for drinking are different than stated. Pool bar closes at 5pm. No more swimming after 8pm. You have to go to a bar that closes at 9:45pm to get beer. Sunday night a flight got cancelled & there was more ppl in the facility so this Monday morning you seen ppl walking around offering beverages. We never got that

They called it a soft opening, we did not realize that meant there would be construction. 4 of the 6 resteraunts were closed. Half of the pools as well,i give them slack since it was off season. The alcohol was name brand and the food was excellent. Staff was super,it was nice overall.

First, the transportation from the airport was a mess because no one knew this resort from the name listed (Selection Riveria Cancun), even with the address. Everyone knew this location to be called the PALMAR RESORT. So if you say that, you won't have troubles like we did. Secondly, our shower and our in-room hot tub NEVER got hot, not even warm! The in-room hot tub looks beautiful on the pictures, but we never got to enjoy that amenity. We unfortunately took cold showers our entire trip, even after speaking to the front desk and maintenance people. There is alot of construction going on within the property, so a lot of things are not available, including some restaurants. The staff was very pleasant and gave really good service from beginning to end. If you like to vacation with no crowds, this is the place for you. There were probably 5 other couples there in total, so we never had to wait long for anything at all, and it was very peaceful. Beautiful resort overall, but I would not stay here again.
