The carpets in all hallways had bunched up and pulled away from the walls. You could barely get your suitcase to roll and I tripped on it. Told the front desk and she just said renos are coming but no apology

A bit outdated, photos don't tell the full story. You're paying for the name but the place needs some basic renos in places. Bathroom floor was mediocre clean, all cushions on the chairs in the cafeteria are falling apart, the pool needs work, pieces were coming off the bottom. Nice staff and not a bad breakfast. Generally clean. All in all you can probably get a better value at a less expensive hotel.

The hotel has really gone downhill. The carpet on the floors in hallways upstairs if acutally a tripping hazard. it is so loose that it is wrinkled and should be removed as a safety issue.It looks terrible and is not safe. This however gives the Hampton a bad name in my opinion. We came for a funeral. The front desk "attendants" are frequently back in another room,door closed. At 7 pm our first evening, the hot water in the big thermoses was not hot, the lights were off in that whole big area where tables are and there was no front staff to be seen. The cushioned furniture in kitchen/eating area is so very dirty from many years of stains but it is quite disgusting. Rooms were fine though and i think the staff that clean the room are good, the run down condition is not their fault. The girl in the kitchen area was very good. The front staff need to be more helpful and visible...I would not stay here again and would not recommend this at all.
