Catalonia - accommodation in Riviera Maya

Lets start from the beginning, the food at this resort is terrible. We stayed at Royal level and the food wasn’t any better then the buffet. The sewer smell in the resort is very off putting. We were made to change rooms because of a leak they had in the room under us. We came back from breakfast and the water in the shower and tub were shut off, we were told they had to turn it off due to a leak. We were understanding and told the staff its fine and when we would be back so our water could be turned back on. We came back to our room and there were five men in our bathroom cutting a hole in the ceiling with all of our personal belongings everywhere. At rhis point we were upset. Went to the desk and we were told it would be five minutes. We were lied to and the manager caught us as we were about to go to the pool and told us we had to change rooms. All in all it was about 5 hours lost of our vacation. This resort needs alot of updating. The best part was the wild life.

It is extremely diffivult to get in touch with someone for room service, for simple requests such as towels or water. It is also impossible to get a reservation at one of the restuarants that required reservations

All food at Coba buffet was disgusting. Had to eat at Tulum and Akumal. Only one dinner is included, reservations essentially impossible, not enough staff at front desk.
