The day before we arrived, we received a message to say, “the reception was not at the same address at the Spanish Suite” our accomodation.
When I arrived at the reception, some 400 m from the accomodation we had confirmed, the staff advised that we were booked at the same address as the reception and “not at Spanish Suite”. They said this was allowable. However I had an email confirming the accomodation we had booked with photo of the room and the address.
They refused to consider my concerns, showed me an alternate room that was substandard. But we had no choices due to high season. Eventually they sowed a slightly better room but it was still very sub standard.
We did not have a choice. It seems that Spanish Suite was double booked. And we had to suffer their incompetence in allowing this to happen.
The situation they placed us in was unacceptable, stressful, and created significant anxiety for me and my wife. We were upset and angry.
It seems that this is a Scam, where there advertise a nice room, over book it, and then force the guests to accept sub standard accomodation. I will take legal action once I return home and have time.
We spent many hours, searching for alternate accomodation.
The next day after much more communication with reception, they agreed a 100% refund. Communication with reception after that was ignored when I requested confirmation of the refund lodgement.
Eventually, I contacted WOTIF online seeking support for our situation
