Very nice traditional decor, good breakfast selection, great location and good value for money. Few cobwebs and slight issues with the plumbing but this is to be expected of such an old building!

Our room was disappointing , we go to red lion yearly for Christmas . Side lamp did not work , bathroom tired , room felt univiting as was big but badly decorated with furnishings , tv too small and too far away from bed ,room was right next to a lift , which as noisy , not my best stay

We didnt have breakfast, toom 32 smelt damp. The fan in the bathroom didnt work so this may be a contribution. Thus is the 3rd time staying with you in 2025. I must say that the lady that sat in the are chair for which seemed like 5 minutes before getting up to ask if we were checking in could have been more professional.

Nice and friendly staff and breakfast was ok, but the room was so noisy (front of hotel), so neither of us slept much. Shame as the hotel is full of history and a lovely building. Would stay again but next time will ask for a room away from the road.

First stay at this hotel, staff are pleasant. The hotel has plenty of character and is kept generally clean. If not a little tired, and the carpets could do with a deep clean. Car park on site is £20 per day, which is gated for security but the spaces are tight, do take care!

The room was clean and spacious, with an excellent bathroom. Overall property appearance was clean, tidy and very attractive. Breakfast was excellent, really good value for the money. Staff were friendly and most helpful. A lovely stay!
