Spacious and comfortable

Surf City Inn was a cute little spot. Rooms are spacious great for mobility. I love that the beds are not right next to each other allowing space between.

Our room smelled like strong cleaning chemicals, we had to air out the room. The people next to our room were very loud and we could still hear them even with the doors shut. The pool and hottub was nice, overall it was an okay stay.

The sink bowl was broken and re-glued. It was sloppily done. We had a kitchenette but there was absolutely nothing there, no pots no glasses, etc. We also never got room service. The only seating in the room were too of those cheap rollong desk chairs. In all fairness it is cheaper than other places in town. I hope they will take the comments constructively and make some changes.

Rooms have recently been renovated and are clean. However, the towels & bath mat were old and/or stained. It is a motel, so it has the convenience of having your car right there, but the inconvenience of being quite noisy. Did not check the jacuzzi, but could tell that lots of kids seemed to be enjoying it! My favorite feature was being able to rent a room with 3 queen size beds for my teenager and his friends to be altogether to celebrate his birthday.

Never Again

Floor was dirty. Pillows were flat. Sheets and towels were stained. There was used soap chunks WITH HAIR on the shelf in the shower. There was either mildew or mold all around the silicone of said shower shelf. Peeling paint on the wall in the bathroom. The room smelled like old cigarette smoke that had been covered up. Our upstairs neighbors were noisy until very late. And our room keys quit working the day before our reservation ended.

Bad and dirty

Hotel room was not at all like pictures. This place is very bare bones and overall dirty and not well outfitted for even a 1 night stay. The walls were dirty, the beds had sheets that didn't cover the mattress - the mattress was bare for 1/4 of it. The bedspread (only blanket) had no covering and the bottom sheet also was not large enough for the queen bed. Stay some where else if you can.

Not recommended for a family

The pool opened after 10 am with a checkout of 11, so it didn’t give much time for the kids to swim. Hot tub was green and the pool area seemed pretty dirty. They provided 3 towels for 5 people in the room, and when we asked more more towels for the pool they only gave 3 more. The beds are terribly uncomfortable and the pillows are awful. Other than that the kids did enjoy the pool for the short time in the morning and it was a place to lay our heads close to the beach and Boardwalk.

The staff was excellent. Loved the indoor pool. The smell of Fabuloso was so strong, it made us sick. I don't know why a hotel would use that pungent house product. It was unbearable.

Surf City met what we needed, but it wasn't anything special. The clientele there were loud and foul mouthed. My son's feet wound up turning black from walking on the room floor. Dust covered the nightstand phone. No box of tissue, no note pad, took a warm shower despite turning the knob to hot. Despite employees in the lobby, a paper sign directed me to an outdoor kiosk to check-in. An employee on a video screen helped me, but I had to place my ID and my credit card under a camera for him to view. This made me concerned about additional cameras that could capture the same images. Bets part about this hotel was the short walking distance to the Beach Boardwalk.
