I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel Caprera. I chose it because of proximity to train station ( five minutes walk) and availability of a triple room as well as air con. We arrived early but were allowed to leave our luggage which was very helpful. We were also offered the use of the bathroom if required. All the staff were very kind and helpful. We had a room on the first floor. It is very basic and the triple is two beds, but the large bed is actually two singles attached with one mattress -this is so wide that I didn't mind sharing with the teenager as we were far enough apart! It's a no frills but absolutely functional room. Two sockets. TV which we didn't use. WiFi excellent. Air con also excellent. There is a safe. One extra pillow in cupboard. Found the bed quite comfortable. Surprisingly quiet considering it's a side street just off the main thoroughfare, but don't expect a lie in as hustle and bustle starts early. Bathroom was absolutely fine. Shower more powerful than it looks and sufficient hot water. There is a small fridge in reception where you can purchase cold drinks at a reasonable price which are added to your bill. Check out is at 10 am( I thought it was 9 so that was a pleasant surprise) and they did offer to have our luggage on departure as well, but we were catching a train so didn't need that service. We did not have the breakfast as I was with teenage boys and they wanted McDonald's)15 minutes walk) I thought that it was excellent value.

Hotel Caprera is the perfect hotel for anyone travelling to Venice who needs a simple and modest stay near the train station. Don’t expect this hotel to be anything crazy, because it’s not, but for what you’re paying for, it’s great. The staff were super nice and quite welcoming. Would visit again!

Fantastic hotel run by a lovely family who all chipped into the welcome process and were all very helpful! Cool AC, very accessible but not directly on the main street such that it was loud. Nice beverage options in the lobby, charged to the room. A 24 hour staffed front desk for assistance and questions. Would stay again!!

Perfect location near the train station

This hotel is located in the perfect spot in Venice. It is a 5 minute walk from the train station. There are no bridges in between the train station and the hotel which makes it easy to carry your luggage. You can then explore Venice without dragging around your suitcases up and down the bridges.The staff is very nice and very knowledgeable. I went with my 16 years old daughter and two of her teenage friends. We had a very nice stay.

Very enjoyable.

The hotel was a little hard to find but once we did our stay was very nice. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly. The location was great if you come in on the train. 4 minute walk from the station. Convenient to many shops and restaurants.

Excellent customer service by the Caprera team! Very flexible with check-in, check out, luggage storage, etc. Super friendly and kind - made all the difference! Room was also very comfortable and clean, EXCELLENT air conditioning - our room became so cold we had to turn it off. Loved that the property was on same side of the bridge as the train station - made walking with luggage so much easier! My only feedback is to replace all the sheets/bedding with something softer :) otherwise everything was great! Thank you for an amazing stay!

NO ELEVATOR. Very noisy since the stairwelll windows are open.for ventilation. Bathroom is tiny, room is tight for 3.people. No kettle or coffeepot. The room was very old looking. But the staff was helpful and nice. Gave us a small Venice banner when we left which was a nice gesture. Close to train station.and vaporetto stop. Lots of shops and dining nearby.

Fantastic highly walkable location and super friendly staff. Whilst the hotel itself is a little bit on the older side and lacks the facilities of other newer hotels, it has a definite charm and beauty to it. The location is excellent and close to the bus and train station as well as waterbus stops. The continental breakfast was good - not great but there was enough there to keep most people happy and we couldn’t complain. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The children absolutely loved the hotel dog too!

It is very clean and friendly. It does get a little loud in the mornong as the floor in room 14 was very noisy. They did offer to change rooms so I give them great credit for that. My suggestion would be to install some USB plug-ins. Overall, it’s ok. It is very easy, walking from the train station and close to the canal.
