Was highly offended by the treatment shown in the restaurant when our family was stopped after dinner to go through our items for the 2nd time by the restaurant manager but no other patrons were stopped. My sons were so annoyed they paid on the spot and worse I had brought my daughter inlaw on first trip to the North of NZ to experience that. Advised the reception who werent interested. Our accommodation was all prepaid but clearly they did not like the way we looked. And this is a hotel in my own country. Would definitely not recommend people to stay here especially if Maori. In addition the room was not cleaned the next day, beds not made or tea topped up for the 2nd day stay. Pink bacteria scum in shower and on shower mat. This hotel needs to lift its game being in one of the most scenic spots in NZ.

Booking in did not go well. Its seems that when the people at the property know that you booked through Expedia, they give you any average room that is outdated, or in poor condition. I had to query the room allocation the next and the staff at the reception said that their was a mistake made. this is not the first time something like this happens. I get the feeling that most properties have a pool of rooms that are put aside for people who book through websites like Expedia. So, these rooms will be very far away from the amenities etc. I was not happy but it was fixed after the fact. This should not be happening,.

Great value for money, nicely decorated room and comfortable bed. Nice grounds and the pool area is amazing. We also enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant.

The staff were generally helpful, but for the price paid, the rooms felt quite dated. I also had an uncomfortable experience when using the microwave in the laundry room to heat milk for my baby — the security staff on Sunday, 8 June gave me a suspicious look and questioned what I was doing. As a parent, this made me feel quite unwelcome. It would be great if all staff, including security, were briefed to approach guests in a more courteous and understanding manner.

I booked a family double but got put in to 2 separate rooms which made it hard for me to look after my moko ... rooms ddnt gt cleaned daily so rubbish stacked up. Ran out of toiletries it was bad ...

Lovely courtside room. Only problem was the ants that filled the rubbish bin when we were there for only a few hours and the slow reception service. Everything else was great including our evening spa in the rain
