From the Town Basin, you can take the three hour walk along the Hatea River to Whangarei Falls, one of the most photographed waterfalls in the country.

Getting Here and Around

Auckland Airport is only about 175 km south and Whangarei has an excellent public bus service, so getting around won't be a problem. If you want to spend some time in Auckland before making your way here, you can stay in one of our Auckland hotels and then catch a coach bus to Whangarei.
