"10 days holiday."
Due to travel difficulties we were very late arriving, but the management adapted for us. Pleasant and clean motel facility although decor and furnishings are dated. Kitchen equipment adequate for preparing and serving meals. Tea, coffee, etc. of good quality and replenished daily. Small fridge, but adequate for storage of pershables short term. We had a connected room and had to transfer cutlery and crockery from one room to another in order for three of us to eat together. Excellent pressure for the showers, and plenty of hot water. Towels and usual toiletries of good quality and adequate. Management very helpful and friendly as were the housekeeping staff, especially as we were usually tardy in leaving our rooms in the morning! Cleaning and housekeeping still managed to do their job well and without intrusion on our privacy. Altogether a pleasant place to stay for the ten days we had.

    Accommodation In Whangarei

Whangarei, one of New Zealand's northernmost districts, is best known for its water, with harbours, beaches, bays, islands, rivers, waterfalls and quays coupled with laid-backlocals. Spend some time in one of our Whangarei hotels and let the stress of a fast-paced lifestyle melt away.

    Things to Do

Many tourists visit Whangarei to go scuba diving in the marine reserve off the Poor Knights Islands. Apart from diving, there are plenty of other water sports you can try while you're here. Just some of those activities include swimming, surfing, boating, fishing, wakeboarding, kite-surfing and kayaking. If you'd prefer to get active on the land, wot about hiking up Mt Parahaki, where you can see the excavations of the fortified Maori village? Bream Head Scenic Reserve is another great place to go walking and check out the panoramic coastal views.

    Retail Therapy

If shopping is more your style, the Cameron Street Mall might tickle your fancy. Or, if you love markets, make sure you pop by the Growers Market, held every Saturday morning. The Town Basin, less than a kilometre from the CBD, is the go-to place for eateries and entertainment. It's also the best place to browse unusual stores and pick up some pottery, artwork or printed fabrics. The quirky Clock Museum and the Whangarei Art Museum Te Manawa Toi can also be found here. From the Town Basin, you can take the three hour walk along the Hatea River to Whangarei Falls, one of the most photographed waterfalls in the country.

    Getting Here and Around

Auckland Airport is only about 175 km south and Whangarei has an excellent public bus service, so getting around won't be a problem. If you want to spend some time in Auckland before making your way here, you can stay in one of our Auckland hotels and then catch a coach bus to Whangarei.

So, for a fun-filled holiday by the water, check out these cheap flights to Auckland and book your Whangarei accommodation with us now.
