While the property itself is beautiful the remainder of the stay was disappointing. First, parking for check in was occupied by patrons of the restaurant and an ongoing event leaving absolutely no parking near the hotel office. After walking almost .5 miles from the car to check in we were provide a map to locate our room which again had no parking near. The information for the hotel states there is a bellhop, but checking in at 7:30pm was not offered by hotel staff. Reaching the room required a .5 walk back to the car and carrying luggage another mile from the car to the room and down 2 flights of stairs. Arrive to the room increased the disappointment as it was dated with a nest of bugs in the corner of the room. We attempted to call Goosefeather for room service and a recording answered requesting a message be left, with no return call, or answer for the next 30mins we attempted to reach them. Breakfast at the mansion was beyond disgusting and cost over $75 (website states $25 per person) for a party of 2. Food was cold, and most options were near gone. We made the decision to check out a day early. Upon checking out and explaining the issue with bugs and incorrect coat for breakfast the young lady running the desk stated that she just worked there….and she would tell her manager…..2 days later, no call from management. Save your money, don’t stay at this establishment.

The check in was great. The front desk clerk, I believe his name is Perry, was very accommodating and helpful. Our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly and courteous. The grounds were well kept and the indoor pool was great.I would highly recommend this hotel.

Even though the power went out on our stay, I wish I got the girls name at the front desk at the time, but she was very kind and helpful. This property has so much potential but it is missing the mark in several basic areas. Our room was dirty. There were food crumbs on the carpet. There were no towels in the room on our arrival and each time the housekeeper cleaned the room, no clean towels were left. The house keeper did not remove the dirty cups and dishes in the room. There was no regular coffee in the room and the lobby coffee maker was broken. And yes, we could have called guest services for these things but the point is, we shouldn’t have to. This hotel has 1 restaurant for dinner. It is desperately needed more options for food and another bar. The breakfast buffet was subpar to put it kindly and not worth $30. The food options in the lobby pantry area were pitiful. Didn’t even have a basic beer option. Some sort of lobby bar would be excellent. Additionally the front lawn area would greatly benefit from fire pits or heaters and maybe some lawn games. It’s a beautiful area but people would like to keep warm on cooler nights when sitting out there. We came across many things that were in need of repair. The light in our room didn’t work. The ceiling was leaking water in my grandmother’s room. The bathrooms near the breakfast area of the hotel were absolutely disgusting. Each toilet in both of the female restrooms were clogged and loaded with human excrement. The lack of elevator should really be advertised. Carrying a stroller and infant up and down 5 flights of stairs is less than desirable.
