Waivered between 2 and 3 stars- the room was weird. The bed was 2 twin matresses shoved together so we had to keep pushing the bed back together. The 4 flights of stairs are killer and the room had a weird wet metal smell. The first night was freezing and the second was boiling hot. The walls are so thin that we could hear other people in other rooms using their bathrooms. The tv only showed 4 channels and 2 of them were just dutch radio DJs doing their jobs live and one was the same Christmas concert on repeat. Okay enough but in my 4th trip to the city i would book elsewhere.

There was a lot of female hair in the bed, the room had a very damp smell that lingered, the bathroom had no light switch leaving the extractor fan on all night long & to top it all off there were mice running around my room.

Area was good for this hotel. Hotel has treacherous stairs..could not imagine what you'd do with large luggage, there is no elevator. We struggled with our small carryons. The front desk staff will not help you with your luggage. Luggage storage is available but it is not locked in any way. The room was dirty, hair still in one of the beds but we couldn't switch rooms because there was two another available with enough beds. Bathroom is dirty and they don't refill the soap when they do the daily cleaning

The hotel is very, very dated. In desperate need of decoration and modernisation. The stairs are very steep which I appreciate is a common feature of Amsterdam buildings but are dangerous for the young and elderly
