We have a great view! The room is newly renovated and clean. There is a some road noise, the refrigerator is not working well (loose plug, shuts off) and the paint job is not uniform inside or out.

It was filthy. We wouldn’t stay there and wanted to go somewhere else. We asked for a refund and they said to call hotels.com We did and hotels.com called the hotel for a refund and the hotel refused. In the end we had to pay for a room somewhere else and still got charged for this one.

The motel was in a good location. Just a short drive from the newfoundland ferry. It definitely needs some updates. I had to use a paper clip to keep the curtain together. The staff was friendly; the breakfast was tasty. I enjoyed being awakened by the low moan of a fog horn.

All in all clean quiet conveniently located place to spend a night on the road and at a reasonable rate. Looks like the motel is going through a bit of a renovation.

The included breakfast buffet had cereal, coffee, orange juice, bread, English muffins, hot egg and sausage rounds. It was nice to have the hot options. Each room had its own heat pump making climate control easy. Some of the fixtures need replacing and updating but it looks like they may be undertaking some renovations.

This was a wonderful property to stay at. Yon get a spacious room that looks out over the lake. Rooms are fully equiped for your convenience with fridge air conditionind (heat) .it was by far the best place we stayed at during our trip to Cape Breton we will be returning for sure. If your heading to Sydney it is about 30mins outside of the city. In closing i cant say enough about this property and the cost was unbelievable to get the quality of room for $130.00.i would rate the experience with a 10 out of 10. Thankyou for a great nights sleep.

I had booked a room for 2 guests for 1 night. Upon arrival, I informed staff we had 2 extra guests. Staff member insisted repeatedly we should have 2 rooms, however I said 1 room with 2 beds (as I had booked) would be fine. He charged an additional $58 for the 2 extra guests and again tried to pressure me into getting a second room. The room was outdated and in some disrepair. There were dead bugs on the floor and on the window sills. The room was very hot with poor air quality. I tried to turn on A/C, however it did not work. I tried to open the window, however the handle was broken. I returned to front desk and was told there are no A/C units operational in any of the rooms as there is no power connected to any of them. This is despite the fact that the property details clearly state they have air conditioning. He sent someone to open the window, however he was unable to get it open. He then offered to move us to another room. At this point, we had seen enough. Before booking, I ensured the property had A/C listed in its property details. This information is incorrect. Knowing it may be difficult to get a refund, we were so turned off with this place that we were willing to forfeit the money and move on. I called Avion after I left explaining everything and that the property details contain false information. Although I booked and paid through Avion rewards, I was told refund would be up to property owner. The Avion rep called property and they refused to give refund.
