PROS: • Exceptional Staff: The employees were incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming. Clara surprised us with cupcakes, balloons and a small gift for my mother’s 70th birthday. • The beach connected to the hotel are beautiful, calm, and some of the best in Cancun. • The hotel location is only 10 minutes from supermarket CONS: • Severe Mold Smell in all Rooms: The air vents emitted a strong moldy odor in our room and other guests’ rooms. This irritated by asthma and the hotel gave us a dehumidifier to help combat the smell. • We were in room 355 and the bathtub wouldn’t retain water, and later, it leaked onto the floor. • The bathroom sink was very clogged and never fixed. • Constantly, two closet doors came off hinges, even after being repaired. • The Refrigerator and Freezer didn’t work properly, and a promised replacement never came. • Loose Toilet Seat: The seat was unstable and pinched when sat on. • The whole complex is worn from maybe the 1990s. The bricks need to be replaced by the pools. One of the small pools near the back entrance was broken. • FINAL THOUGHTS: While the staff’s kindness made our stay more enjoyable, the hotel is in desperate need of renovations and better maintenance. If these issues were resolved, it could be a fantastic place to stay.

Hotel Stay That Completely Surprised Us

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel! The room was spacious, clean, and felt incredibly safe. If you're traveling with small children, this is a great option—the pools have plenty of shallow areas for toddlers and babies, and the beach is mostly shallow as well. One of the best parts was the food! We were four adults, two of whom are picky eaters, but we loved everything we ate. The beach service was top-notch, making our stay even more enjoyable. We had such a great experience that we ended up adding an extra night! Highly recommend this hotel—we truly enjoyed every moment!

As usual, nice hotel, great staff, located in great area; shopping, easy ocean access, big beautiful pool, day excursions. A special shout out to Angel, Wendy, Alexandra for all their help with trip planning. Nice little gym, and Mex Bingo , poolside was fun, too. Will return again!

The staff makes this facility sing. They are the nicest, most attentive of any place I've ever stayed. They will always smile, greet you, answer your questions, help in every way. It was a perfectly average hotel. There’s no reason I’d not stay again, although there are more modern hotels that I’d likely try if I came back. But overall, it was ok value for money when bought via a Expedia package. Since it’s not all-inclusive, it’s not overrun by middle-age American tourists with their Yeti cups of margs, nor the young obnoxious party crowd. There were certainly more Mexican natives staying here than I’d have expected for Cancun, which was nice. Occupancy rate at the hotel must have been quite low all week because it was generally quite quiet — I never had to wait for anything… table at La Palaba, sun lounger at the pool, drink at the bar, massage at the spa, etc. Pros: - The staff were very friendly, especially at the front desk, bar & restaurant. - Lunch and dinner prices were quite reasonable compared to London. - Location was good. - Deep tissue massage was good and I walked right in and they saw me 10 minutes later. Cons: - £27 for a buffet breakfast seemed quite pricey. - No blow dryer in the room. - The waiters at the pool could have been more attentive and kept an eye for guests needing food or drinks without having to wave them down. - Only a small sliver of sand for 2 rows of chairs, and then rough concrete shoreline, and there are many other hotels with much better proper beach access. - I couldńt just charge everything to my room for some reason. Might have been a misunderstanding at check-in on my part though.
