Really enjoyed our time at the Royal Sands. Check in was smooth and easy. Our concierge Dylan was very responsive and helpful to us navigating our stay. Must mention German in Hacienda Sisal and Orlando and Roberto at la Veranda. They gave excellent wait service, were very friendly and efficient. The room was very comfortable for our family of 4. Our maid Herlinda was very professional and kept our suite immaculate. Food was pretty good even though it was buffet. The theme days made it more interesting so you were not eating the same thing everyday. Food at Hacienda Sisal was amazing, along with the live performances. Pools and grounds were always immaculate and clean. Only thing was the presentation for the timeshares could have been shorter especially when it was evident that we were not going to make such an important decision on the spot.

Property is well maintained. The bathrooms and kitchens could use some updating. You have to exit the front to use the gym and spa services which is odd. There is only one main restaurant for breakfast which can be very busy. The beach is beautiful and there are lots of chair but you have to get up early to reserve or you may not get one. Beach volleyball is available but it sends to be overtaken by older men making it intimidating for teenagers and women to participate. If you order pool service or dine you need to give your key card, which becomes tedious and inconvenient as the week goes on. For example if you are at the pool and give your key card to order. You have to close the tab to get the card if you need to go back to your room for something. Not easy when servers are busy. The kids club is great. The tennis courts are in good condition. The spa is nice. The sushi restaurant ant was our favourite. There are lots of activities to keep you busy. Buses run right out front to safely take you downtown. Everyone working there is kind and friendly and deserve a raise. The market on property is convenient and has lots of products. We would return.

Our stay here exceeded our expectations. The staff was excellent, and the property was well kept. We enjoyed the food options, and that there was a Starbucks, store, and gift shop on the property. We felt spoiled being able to order tacos and drinks while we sat on the beach. The beach is beautiful at this resort. We wished the outdoor hot tubs would have been warmer, but that was our only complaint. We would totally stay here again!

The pool waiters, Tomas and Gabriel, were magnificent and truly the highlight of the trip. This is a timeshare resort that primarily caters to guests aged 70 and above. If you're looking for sleek designs and over-the-top customer service, this isn’t the place for you. I'm not joking—if there are 1,000 visitors, 990 of them will be elderly, and the other 10 will be their 50-year-old children and grandchildren. The food is below par, and the resort’s systems are outdated. The furniture in the rooms feels straight out of the mid-'90s—think Golden Girls style. This isn't your typical resort; it's a true timeshare hotel trying to sustain itself by selling rooms owned by timeshare holders. However, the infrastructure isn’t set up to accommodate such a large number of guests. There are too few restaurants, meaning you'll likely end up at the subpar buffet instead of the reservation-only dining options. If you want a poolside chair, be prepared to get there at 5 a.m. to place a flag—and return every hour to ensure it hasn’t been taken (this is not an exaggeration). Even at the reserved restaurant, there’s an upcharge for quality food. The poke bowl was solid, but the sushi was the worst I’ve ever had—they use lox-style salmon instead of fresh sushi-grade fish. It’s clear that the focus isn’t on quality but rather on accommodating the masses within a limited system. That said, the beauty of this resort lies in the families who have been coming here for over 30 years.

Property is dated and pool and pool bars close at 6pm! Food is not good at all and not enough choices. Older clientele and service is weak. Everything requires room service so you have to tip every time you turn around. Very annoying

Slow service around property and all inclusive was a hassle with having to give your room key at lunch or dinner or even at some bars and then waiting to get it back. Also all inclusive was not really all inclusive as there was a lot that had sur charges.

We loved the room, cleanliness, and staff. The pools and beach were amazing. The children’s slides were so much fun and it is a perfect choice for a family. The only thing we did not like was the reservation times for dinner. Unless you are a member you get whatever times are left over for the specialty restaurants. Usually, being 8:30 and 9pm. Too late for our family.

We booked this property for a quick 2 day stay the week before the trip. The staff is AMAZING. Everyone is so kind and treats you like family. Truly is a lovely resort. I will definitely be back to bring my husband and toddler along next time!
