The property was OK a few things that I didn’t like No welcome drink like other resorts or hotels as soon as you walk in, the buffet was very limited on food. The steak restaurant is very minimal had no taste at all. The Italian restaurant was fantastic. That was our best place for breakfast. We only did room service due to having an infant and not wanting to wake up early. When we were out at the beach, the waitress service was limited as well. They were not attentive as other waiters at other resorts. The food at the snack bar was minimal and OK. I like this resort just because it was far away from the others and the waters were great But out of 10 I will definitely rate this at a four compared to other resorts out there the ferry as well was a big thing why we got their clothes was because we can go to Isla‘s very faster, but that ferry is a cargo ferry and it’s only three times it leaves so keep in mind in that they do not advertise that part. There’s no shopping around. I wanted to do some shopping at least at different stores, but not a lot of nightlife so I figured this would be a good resort but definitely wrong. I kind of recommend it. I guess you would have to stay to take your own review.

First time staying here and I was not impressed. Just another resort. The dinning options were good however they only have 1 buffet. This buffet is closed half the time I was there. It was annoying because for lunch I had to either make a reservation or eat from the snack bar. The snack bar did have a few items like salads, tacos, burgers, hot dogs, chicken wings and tenders with fries. Some wraps. For someone that wants to pick her own food I was not so happy. They clean the rooms daily and have a good mini bar and snacks free of charge. I was annoyed by the check I needed to sign every where including the snack bar. This check detailed what we ate at zero cost because its all inclusive but you had to print your name and sign. They do this so you can tip if you dont have cash with you. Of course additional tips are optional but its a bit rude. I wont be going back here, food was a 7/10 and staff was 6/10.

We were overcharged at the spa and the transportation to downtown. When we tried to resolve it, we were just argued with and told we approved charges we definitely didn’t approve. Similarly, we paid the hotel for transportation to a club, but when we arrived at the club, they said we didn’t and made us pay again. We reserved a two bed room, but received and ocean view upgrade with only one bed. The food was good, but a reservation when booking is recommended.

There is not one thing that we did not enjoy on this resort. It was the perfect relaxing vacation that we needed! Rafael checked us in and he was wonderful. Very informative and helped with all our questions. Helped provide the other couple with us an upgrade that was greatly appreciated. He was absolutely amazing! All the staff were beyond great, very friendly and always greeted with a smile! Dining options were great as well. Great reviews for the steakhouse and italian, as well as the Legends bar inside. Food was really good 10/10. Resort was very clean and the hospitality all staff provided was great! Room service was used on our visit and they were very quick and always willing to help. Pools are wonderful! The staff keeps it very clean. Many different pools so you have options! Theres also staff that comes around the pools asking if you want drinks/food. Nightly options we didn’t experience really weren’t looking for partying, more of a relaxing vacation. All in all, our whole party has nothing but great things to say about Villa Del Palmar and their staff! Thank you to everyone who made our vacation everything we needed!

I want to give this property 5 stars. It's beautiful, it's fun, it feels like its own perfect little escape. But frankly I 3as absolutely outraged by the way we were treated. At least three times I attempted to call to have something minor fixed in the room . Ok, I thought, let it go. However, after spending 90 mins trying every number available on the phone (front desk, bellman, etc.) because three room service number was simply busy no matter what. Is no one working here? I wondered. So at 4 am, I got dressed and walked to the front desk. Yes! People are working. In this case, 3 people were right there at the front desk talking. When I explained that not one line anywhere on the property answers, not only did they not care, they responded with hostility. 'What do you want? We"ll get it from room service". Room svc is not the point. As a person who had a life threatening medical emergency, I thankfully survived, what would have happened if it occur while I was there? The truth is very scary. Not one person on any line anywhere in the hotel was reachable _on several occasions. Knowing how dangerous this, the response I got was rude, hostile, deeply unprofessional. Having traveled around the world, one thing is very consistent. When a classy place makes a mistake, the offer a gesture, and at minimum an apology. Not here.

The whole family enjoyed all the Activities. The pool zumba, volleyball, floating obstacle course, catamaran all the different pools and hottubs. Dining in all the restaurants was exceptional. Staff and service around the pool was perfect. Definitely will go back.

The only thing I didn’t like that most of the trip we had zero water pressure for the jacuzzi. Also there were problems with our room when we got there. Our travel agent or maybe the hotel didn’t have information correct. They didn’t have our room when we got there and they had my name wrong. We booked two queen beds but they gave us a king size bed with a pull out in the front room. We also didn’t know about to the 500 dollar insurance fee when we got there. They charged us for WiFi when it was supposed to be free. Poor communication on their end on the travel agent and the hotel.

Pros: Large 2 bedroom suite with living room which is good for teenage kids. There are several pools and jacuzzis. Kayaking is free but at the mercy of the wind (closed on windy days). Mexican food is good, buffet is good. Cons: The property is dated compared to its sister property Garza Blanca. Several items in my room were broken including the door scanner, the automatic blinds in the bedroom and living room, and the jacuzzi water was yellow. The restaurants were decent except for the steak. Don’t order steak any where on premise, the cuts are thin, cooked poorly and are definitely poor quality. The pools are ok but since there are so many kids the chances are high that there will be an accident. My last day there one of the pools was closed for 4 hours, and had to be “shocked” which means someone went number 2. Tipping is out of control compared to other places in Cancun because the staff doesn’t get paid a real wage. Lastly they try to get you to sign up to their residency club and say it’s only 90 minutes (took 3 hours). Definitely feels like a pyramid scheme they have to fund construction. It’s not a time share, more likely a “scam” share since you don’t own anything but the right to use their properties. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend it over the Hilton all Inclusive which is newer.

The property is beautiful. The pools are pristine, and the restaurants boast delicious gourmet food. We were disappointed that our personal hot tub on our balcony did not work during our entire stay. We paid a premium price for the room we had and were not compensated in anyway for this. (we were told we could perhaps have a free night if we booked there again.) We also had trouble upon arrival paying our balance. We tried to use our American Express card and were told that the machines were having trouble processing it in USD. So, we agreed to allow the card to be processed in pesos, and ended up being charged $250 more than the agreed-upon balance owed. We received varying responses regarding this and never had it resolved during our five nights there. So, we filed a dispute upon returning home. It was unusual since we were able to use our American Express card on the property to book excursions in USD. The hotel charges a higher exchange rate, but this was not told to us at the time we agreed to charge the amount in pesos. Still, you would think the amount of pesos would be adjusted to match the balance owed in USD.

Positive: Location was away from main Cancun, more family oriented. Negative:Tips felt as they were expected and resort/managers tend to way over charge for anything extra outside all inclusive.
