We had a three night stay at the end of our holidays and it was great to have such a pleasant place to stay and use as a base before we left the country. We had no complaints whatsoever.

"Excellent hotel, excellent bar and restaurant "
I can highly recommend this hotel. We have been to Christchurch several times recently and have been very disappointed with the accommodation we had chosen as we felt it was substandard for the amount we were paying. Finally we have found a great place to stay. We had a premier suite room on 4th floor, and whilst we would have preferred a balcony, we did have opening windows. Our room was very spacious and its cleanliness of a high standard. The staff and food at Bloody Mary's was excellent, we were more than happy to dine there every night during our stay.

Was only there for one night, the only problem I had was the pillow was too hard. Had breakfast in the restaurant, very enjoyable and a reasonable price.

"Fantastic staff and comfort"
Our flight was changed twice and we ended up arriving at 3.05am and after waiting for our bags it was after 4am when the staff came and collected us. Directions were clear and they quickly checked us in and took us to our room. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to attend to our every need. Beds were comfortable and we were automatically given a late check-out. Highly recommend them!

"Upgraded airport hotel "
Walking distance to the airport has always put this hotel in a top location. The major upgrade is now finished; and our room was one of the 'new' ones - more power points, usb ports, coffee plunger for 21st century travellers. Bath deep and narrow but grab rail in place to aid entry/exit. My only niggle was the lack of lighting - but this seems to be the 'new' thing - all position lighting. No overall bright room light to make life easy when you have that dreaded 0400 exit and want to check the room whilst half asleep before leaving the country. Breakfast was adequate but expensive.

"clean room with easy access to everywhere!!!"
Was happy with my stay until i left my luggage in their storage room.the room does not have a lock, its just a big room.no individual shelf or lock etc.i asked the staff whether it would be safe to leave my suitcase (was a suitcase with huge & colouful sticker on the front). The frendly staff assured me that the room was safe.but i took my valuable stuffs with me.When i came back after 6hrs,my suit case was wide open!!!!!every zip was open!!!! i informed the front line staff and she assured me that would not be intentional.which i doubt.i showed the big paint on my suit case (difficult to miss).i was relived that i took the important stuffs with me.so i was not upset but asked them to have different system for storage facility.

"Brilliant hotel, very friendly and helpful staff."
My wife and I booked at the Commodore hotel night before our flight back to Sydney. the room was great, bed so comfortable and generally everything was perfect. The friendly shuttle service picked me up from the airport when I dropped off the rental vehicle. that left us with one less thing to worry about for the early morning flight. very much appreciated. last but not least the room food we ordered for room service was delicious. best chilli prawns I have tasted. well done guys keep up the good work.

"Modern, tidy and compact"
Rooms were clean and modern. They are not large rooms however more than adequate for longer length stay. Bed comfortable, bathroom although small had good shower. The ironing board was the size of a thimble so if you need to iron anything larger than a handkerchief....you will be challenged. Slight problem with late night thumping night club music ever from a street over which kicked in about 10.30 and was an issue for those closest to the road. Not all rooms have air conditioning which in hot humid conditions in a smaller room can be uncomfortable. Overall though I would recommend for tourist or holiday stay. I was compromised for 3 people in town for business as there were no vacancies anywhere for 3 days or more but I would say we were still pleased with our stay relative to cost and the overall modern quality of the rooms.

    Accommodation In Christchurch

Christchurch is a world-class destination where the locals are brave, resilient, resourceful, and ready to put on the ritz for their guests. Sounds perfect, doesn't it? That's what you'll have when you stay in one of our Christchurch hotels. Don't let a few earthquakes scare you; despite the challenges that the city has faced since 2010, the people of Christchurch are rebuilding their city stronger and better than ever. Oh, and did we mention the gorgeous mountain and ocean views?

Perhaps the best of those views are seen from the Port Hills, which is popular with hikers, birdwatchers and mountain bikers. The views may be pretty, but many of Christchurch's gardens are equally gorgeous. In fact, Christchurch is known around the world as "The Garden City". The Christchurch Botanic Gardens, Hagley Park and Mona Vale Gardens are some of the most popular. If you're in Christchurch in February, make sure you attend the Festival of Flowers, or the Ellerslie International Flower Show in March. Flower festivals aren't the only popular annual events in Christchurch, though. There's also the International Busker Festival held in January, which features buskers from all over the world performing throughout the city.

A fairly new attraction in Christchurch is the Re:START Mall. This strip of shops is housed in brightly coloured shipping containers, and opened in 2011, as a bit of a protest against Mother Nature and as a symbol of the comeback-spirit of Christchurch locals. Head down to the mall to pick up some bargains and have a great cup of coffee. If you'd like to do a coffee crawl, make sure you visit Addington, which is famous for its cafes and live music scene. Throughout the city, quite a few "pop up" bars have made their mark since the quakes, where cocktails are often stirred and shaken inside a bus, while the bar-goers sit at funky tables and chairs, under the stars in an empty car park.

The Christchurch airport is only 15 minutes from the CBD. You can get around the city by bus, and there are also lots of cycling tracks. If you want to explore other parts of New Zealand, Christchurch is serviced by inter-regional trains. So, for a holiday in New Zealand's ‘Reimagined City’, check out these cheap flights and book your Christchurch accommodation today.
