Cheap but cheerful & clean

We had a great stay, we knew our room would be basic cos that's what we booked but we were pleasantly surprised at how clean it was. The owners obviously pride themselves on providing a clean place to stay. The bed was comfortable, there was both a heater and a fan in our room.

Nice and affordable

Totally appropriate for our needs - a one night stay on a road trip. Only downside was the bed was a bit too soft.

Situated near the Napier Bypass... requires some care getting across the road if you are coming from Southampton Street. Very 1960's in terms of room layout, decor and fittings... but clean and functional for a one night stay.

Friendly owners & clean facilities. Good pool& spa

Pros: Affordable, clean & functional. Good pool & spa plus firm bed.
Location: Well located for bike rides for Hastings, Napier & Havelock North.
Good stay, an excellent affordable accomodation option. Friendly & helpful owners. We'd stay again.

Everything i needed without being pretentious.

Pros: It was really clean and fresh and worked well.
Cons: Perhaps a small interior table to eat at.
Location: I had never stayed in the area so took time to visit the centre of town and Havelock North, but was on my way elsewhere so didnt do more than that.
I arrived tired after a long drive to find friendly staff, a freshly aired room, very clean facilities and a well maintained pool. The whole place was well maintained, inside and outside. No frills but everything i needed to make a meal, have a good hot shower and a comfortable nights sleep. Compared with friends who were staying at a more expensive motel with, on the surface, fancier facilities the Camberley worked far better for our needs. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend it to other travellers.

Very basic and very tired, cigarette smell.

Pros: Price
Cons: Grounds needed cleaning up
Location: Out of town, nothing nearby, but we knew this
Very basic, okay at a price. Booked two bedroom, but not enough basic everyday things were provided. Eg bathroom and kitchen requirements
