Amazing service, room, hotel and location. WiFi is hardly working and I would allow children at the lounge. It keels the atmosphere and it becomes like playground. Other then that amazing.

The Celestine Gion is beautiful 4.5 star hotel in the heart of Gion, the primary touristic part of Kyoto. Its location on a quiet side street means that you won’t be bothered by the hellish nightmare of over tourism that Kyoto endures. The rooms are stylish and smart. The bathroom set up may seem jarring to some at first, but it actually is quite tasteful and clearly a design feature and not some sort of workaround. The spa is peaceful and elegant. The staff is excellent and attentive by even the highest standards. This is truly a low key beauty of a hotel and I would recommend it to anyone who isn’t looking for a large resort style or business hotel experience.

The hotel is tucked away in the heart of Gion, offering a perfect blend of modern comfort and traditional Kyoto charm. First off, the hotel is incredibly clean. The rooms are spacious, well-kept, and thoughtfully designed, providing a peaceful retreat after a day of sightseeing. The attention to detail was evident, from the fresh linens to the well-maintained amenities. One of the biggest perks of this hotel is its location. It's just a short walk to the famous Kiyomizu-dera, making it a great base for exploring Kyoto’s historic sites. The Gion district itself is beautiful to walk through, especially in the evenings when the streets light up with lanterns, and you might even catch a glimpse of a geisha or two!

Nice hotel. Nice touch to have the mini bar included. Amazing bathroom products Having a divider between the bedroom & lounge room meant you couldn’t watch TV whilst in bed. A little intense on all the formalities of shoes off, what towels to take to onsen, what robes to wear to onsen etc…

Beautiful hotel nestled in the Gion area. As soon as you enter they have a beautiful relaxed seating in the lobby area with a view of the garden. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are good size and beds are very comfortable and clean. Bathrooms and showers were great! Location is perfect - very walkable towards the Gion sights and shrines on one side, and across the river in the other direction are some amazing restaurants, bars and shopping that one can walk to. Would highly recommend.

This is simply a wonderful hotel. From the outside it seems rather like a conventional hotel, but once inside you know you are in a special place--real, traditional Japan, away from crowds, lights, concrete, glass and steel, but in view of surrounding garden spaces open spaces, impeccable interior design with sacred corners and views that let you turn inside and simply relax--even when it's 100 degrees outdoors. The room was beautiful, minimalist, perfectly appointed with a super comfortable bed. I had a view of the interior garden, which I loved. I can't say enough about this wonderful hotel and when I return to Kyoto, this is where I'm staying! Stay there and be happy....

This is my second time staying at this property and as with the first time it was a pleasure. The property is beautiful, clean, the staff cordial and helpful. The rooms are big, clean and the hotel happy hour is always a good fun. This property is in the heart of Gion and its easy to walk to places or take a cab.
