The stay was disappointing. The room was tiny, and the bed was uncomfortable: the mattress sagged right in the middle, and the pillows were bad. The team at reception seemed to do the bare minimum; they weren't rude, but the service lacked any warmth. The luggage delivery company (external from the hotel) damaged our suitcase, and the reception team repeatedly questioned us ("Are you sure it wasn't already broken?"), which made the whole situation uncomfortable.

I stayed for three nights in a foliage season in Kyoto. Room is clean with good amenities, and staff are friendly and professional. It is walkable to the downtown Sanjo where are many fancy restaurants and bars.

Room was extremely hot, no control over temperature in the rooms. Signs not to open the windows. If you do open the window to cool off you will be listening to traffic all night.
