Loved staying here when I went to Kyoto for three days! Place is upscale, has great service, and a nice breakfast buffet with a variety of foods. Rooms were a decent size for Japanese standards and came with many amenities. They also have a tattoo-friendly public bath! A nice street market around the corner made it easy to shop in the less touristy parts of Kyoto. And on top of the hotel being very close to a station, traveling around Kyoto was super easy. Would stay here again!

Right across from nijo station, lovely "hip" art-sy vibe. Friendly staff, easy and quick check-in and check-out, you don't need to talk to anyone, but of course you can if you'd like. Public bath is very nice and clean, Gym is small but has the basics like dumbbells and treadmill for cardio. Room is quite spacious and clean, has everything you need!

After our tour in Kyoto ended we extended our stay for another 5 days and we need something more affordable and the Royal Park Canvas Nijo just fit our budget. We took the train from Kyoto station to Nijo and was pleasantly surprised that we can see the hotel from across the station and good thing for us we have been walking all day cold tired and it was raining so glad that it’s a very short walk from train station. The check in was so fast and seamless, staff was young energetic and helpful. The amenities at this hotel is great, free coffee lattes matcha in lobby all day long, also public bath that we came to enjoy so much in Japan not every hotel has public bath/sauna and this is a plus for us—the room is nicer and bigger than hotel in Tokyo for half the price and more amenities provided. The hotel is new so super nice and clean. It’s near Nijo castle and other shrines, a 10 minutes Uber ride to Nikishi Market and Samurai museum . If you don’t mind a little distance from main train station in Kyoto I’d highly recommend this hotel. A plus for everything especially the staff, arigatou gozaimasu 🙏

Amazing hotel in great location

This hotel was fantastic! Check-in and check-out were a breeze, and the location right across from Nijo Station made getting around so convenient. There were plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby, which was really handy. The onsen was amazing, and the efficient washing machines were a great bonus. Our room was enormous, with a huge, super comfy bed and the softest pillows. The bathroom was spacious, and we loved the little extras like free coffee and matcha downstairs and a microwave for heating meals. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay here! It’s so close to the Nijo station and close to a main bus route. The rooms were clean, comfortable, with plenty of space. We really couldn’t have asked for more!

This hotel was one of the best ones we stayed at during our trip to Japan. It was spacious, the bathroom was beautiful with a nice standing shower. It was very clean the staff always greeted us when we passed by. They have Landry machines available to use as well. There's also a safe and a fridge in the room.

Located next to a rail station, which is a short ride from Kyoto Station. It's in a relatively quiet area of the city during the night. Upgraded rooms, spacious for Japan, and very friendly staff. Would stay again.

We have a night stay in this hotel. The area is very close to train station (just across a street). It is also close to Nijo castle (15 mins walk). Staffs are very friendly and hospitable. Breakfast is great (some basic western breakfast). If they can provide more Japanese breakfast option style, it will be great. Overall good experience, highly recommendation.

This hotel is perfectly situated in front of train and bus stops. There are a lot of food options as well. The room was perfect. The change the sheets every 3 days. There is a tattoo friendly public bath, a laundry room that you can check their statuses thru your TV. The pubic bath, I would suggest going on a non busy hour 3-6 PM. After that it gets busier the later in the night it gets.

Loved our stay here! Lots to do around and conveniently located across the street from the train station. Our only complaint was that our window had a design over it, so we couldn’t see outside. It only let in light. We didn’t spend a ton of time in our room so it wasn’t a huge deal, but it would’ve been nice to see the view. Overall, great stay!
