Our room was larger than the last time we stayed here which was good. Staff were friendly & efficient. Unfortunately on our departure date 22/9 there was no water to our room so we couldn’t shower, make a cup of tea or flush the toilets.

Location. Clean. Forecast heatwave, a/c in initial room not working Despite IHG, 4 nite stay, 3rd stay in year, transfer room run down, in housekeeping wing. At least quiet since few guest rooms there. Phone not working, informed desk at 9:30 am. Return 5pm, not repaired. BUT wonderful maintenance gentleman to room w/in 5 minutes. Replaced. 5 am fire alarms on 23rd. Initially sent back up stairs to rooms. 'False alarms." Kept screaching. Then full alarms....exited to street area. Standing in sleep clothing 50 minutes. Told nothing. One fire truck, 5-6 firefighters in lobby. Not even offer of free Starbucks at 6am re-entry. NO WORDS OF APOLOGY! NO COMPENSATION. That time of am typical to prep for early am flights.

The hotel management decided to check us out even though we requested PAID pre check in a late check out at 4. Now we are out on the street with suitcases and we dont need to be at the airport before 6 PM!!! The check in agent confirmed that we are getting the late check out but suddenly they said we have no records of that. Not worth spending your money here, plenty of better clean and lively places.

If you’re used to sleeping in a shoebox, showering in a bucket, having the fan blow at a rate that would be near the rate of an infant and paying top price - this is the place for you! You would be way further ahead staying only a little ways away from here to have a much better experience.

The rooms were very small, especially the bathrooms. Our bathroom was very narrow and bathtub was very high to step up into. We are 62 and 65. It was very unsafe. Our daughters had two twins and there was no room to walk. Their air conditioner went out and could not be fixed. They brought a fan up for them to use. There were 90 degree days. Our last night they offered 50% off one night on the room or they could move them to a different room. We were leaving in the morning so we took the 50%. The girls didn’t want to pack twice before we departed. Anyone staying here, upgrade your room to a larger room.

My experience at Holiday Inn Kensington was marked by a deep sense of being ignored and disrespected—not due to a misunderstanding, but because of how the situation was handled from start to finish. While I was in line and already speaking to the receptionist, another guest cut in front of me and addressed her directly. Shockingly, she proceeded to assist him without acknowledging me—as if I were invisible. Even if the other guest disregarded the queue, it was the receptionist’s responsibility to intervene. She should have asked him to wait and allowed me to finish, rather than rewarding his behavior by serving him immediately. This made the experience not just disappointing, but deeply hurtful. After filing a formal complaint with Holiday Inn Guest Services, I received an apology from the hotel manager, who dismissed the incident as “a genuine human error.” While I appreciated the response, it failed to address the seriousness of what happened or the emotional toll it took on me. I strongly urge hotel management to provide proper staff training—not just in procedures, but in fundamental respect, fairness, and treating all guests equally, regardless of background, religion, or appearance. I share this review hoping no one else has to endure what I did.

We stayed at the holiday inn for one night , and over all it was an average stay , for the price paid we excepted more . The room was ever so small and lucky we didn’t have many suitcases otherwise the room was very tight . The hotel service in general was good the staff were helpful at a standard . We got to the hotel for 8 in the morning as we was there for an event an unfortunately we could not check in until 1500 which was awful waiting around and tired , we did ask if we can pay extra to check in early but answer was no . We checked in at 1500 and checked out at 1200 , that’s less that 24hr . There was pool and leisure facilities which we did not get to use but it’s convenient that they are included in the booking price . Breakfast was very average and very basic there isn’t much options so if you’re not fussed about lining your stomach with a standard breakfast then it’s suitable for you however if you’re vegetarian or of a Halal diet there isn’t much options . Again it was included in the price however I wouldn’t pay additional charges . When booking the hotel came up with parking available which is correct however with an additional charge ! Which isn’t made clear when booking online so be mindful when you book . Location overall is convenient and metro , isn’t far at all , there are bike docks to hire bikes which was convenient when getting around . Standard toiletries available and you can request for more via reception
