Always construction in New York so surrounding buildings may have scaffolding up. Essex was a great stay and comfortable. Nice view of the park and staff were great. I felt it was elegant but not too posh. Would go again.

I asked the hotel to send someone to pick up the leftover take out of my lunch. No one came and it was left in front of the door until this morning. The bed was never made for the evening. No coffee to enjoy. What kind of a five start hotel is this? Marriott

Elegant decor, efficient service and roomy , accessible accommodations. This is located on Central Park south one of the prime spots in all the world.

The location was the best! Close to shopping, food, Central Park etc. They made our stay very pleasant. The only exception was that they didn’t have a breakfast cafe. They also let us borrow a crib for the baby. Just outstanding!
