The location of the hotel was great. Lot of great restaurants and shopping close by. The room was a good size and very clean. The only downside was having to make reservations for the pool. We checked in and were looking forward to going to relax by the pool but we were told we needed reservations so we had to make reservations for the next day and not until 4:30, we had to pay $50 a person but it goes towards food and/or drinks.

As a frequent traveler I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels around the world. While the staff was generally friendly, the room great, in-room dining was horrible. Do yourself a favor, eat out! The dinner I ordered was barely edible. I ordered breakfast the next day thinking how badly can they screw up eggs. Well, they delivered breakfast with no utensils. With three calls to request delivery of utensils I found myself eating with my fingers. Unacceptable. When I complained to the manager she ensured the charges were removed AND gave me a credit for future dining. When I used that credit towards breakfast (a breakfast that turned into lunch because of a long wait for a table) I was still charged, no credit, despite mentioning the credit to hostess and waiter. When I called to dispute the charge after checking out I was given some story that I had already used the credit toward a $50 dining charge, which never happened. What $50 charge? After being placed on hold the woman on the phone said she would call me back, at which point I said forget it. Keep the money! What a waste of so much time. An otherwise good stay made frustrating by room service.

Management absent and customer service lacking The check-in experience with Darnelle was a highlight, his charm, professionalism, and engaging demeanor made for a warm and memorable welcome. Julio the bell boy who helped us with our luggage is a sweetheart. Unfortunately, the subsequent interactions with the front desk and ‘Yes’ customer service line lacked the refinement and knowledge expected from a four-or five-star hotel. One particular staff member exhibited a dismissive and short-tempered attitude when addressing a simple request, even going so far as to roll her eyes at the mention of a colleague. It was unprofessional and inappropriate especially in front of guests. Housekeeping standards are poor; the basics get done but that’s where it ends. It appears that no quality control measures are in place to ensure rooms are acceptable. Upon arrival, we discovered a room unfinished,, such as only one gown, no slippers, no glassware, no coffee mugs or cups, and an insufficient number of towels. Additionally, empty wine glasses were neither removed, cleaned nor replaced, further underscoring the lack of attention to detail. We’re here for nine nights - it’s gets wearing. N.B. The housekeeping are very sweet and friendly and do work hard but have been poorly trained and supervised. Despite signage instructing guests to wait to be seated, we ventured to the third floor, where no staff member made an effort to greet us. He just waltzed not an issue in itself, but telling of

Everdine staff are not all on the same page as to how things work. There was some small issue with our breakfast vouchers one day (not a big deal), the next we were told that we could not get coffee and juice and that it was one or the other and another day we were told there was added charges for requesting cheese in the scrambled eggs. 3 different staff. Also, don’t hold your breath for refills. They won’t exactly offer except for the water. Over all the Everdine service was lukewarm at best. The rest of the hotel staff was warm and welcoming!

Bad experience + bad customer experience

The AC in my room was on but not working — during a NYC heatwave. I couldn’t sleep the entire first night. I reported it the next morning, was told it would be fixed, but when I returned that night it was still just as hot. An engineer finally came and told me it couldn’t be repaired. No room change, no fan, no refund. I had to cut my stay short. The hotel later reached out to “apologize,” but still offered no real solution. This used to be a great hotel, but after this experience, I won’t be coming back.

There was poor communication regarding pool age limits. We purchased seats and were only told upon arrival that the pool is 21+ after noon. This wasn’t disclosed. We also only were able to stay for 45 minutes because it rained unexpectedly and no accommodation was offered.

Never stayed at home Virgin Hotel... We chose it because it's close to the Broadway shows... and because it had a pool... I the only down side was the pool was only open from 8 to 11 for kids... What's that about... I the pool attendants where great and the kids got to swim anyway.

Checked into room after being delayed for a few hours at midnight air conditioning not working was very hot went to reception took them 90 mins to resolve it gave us $100 credit for bar or restaurant checked out they knew nothing about credit very unprofessional
