There are very few hotel options in the immediate vicinity of downtown Ocean Beach, so be sure to book your room early if you are thinking of staying in a central Ocean Beach hotel.
The Quality Inn Napier, New Zealand, which is the nearest accommodation, lies 30 kilometres from downtown Ocean Beach. Another alternative is the Nautilus Napier, which is located in New Zealand, 30 kilometres from downtown Ocean Beach.
The BK's Fountain Court Motor Inn is located 30 kilometres from the heart of Ocean Beach. Or, alternatively, the Motel de la Mer is 30 kilometres away. Two more places to stay in this area are the Shoreline Motel and the Beach Front Motel Napier.
Once you have got to know Ocean Beach, why don't you tour a bit further afield? The North Island region has many other scenic and cultural delights waiting to be explored. Admire North Island's beaches, coastal plains and forests. Or, visit the area's art museums, nature museums and history museums. In this region of New Zealand, tourists can partake in snowboarding, skiing and tobogganing.
It's well known that we Kiwis know how to relax, so consider staying a little longer and check out the Te Mata Peak and Golflands, in Havelock North, 13 kilometres to the northwest of Ocean Beach. Havelock North accommodation options are the Village Motel and Mangapapa Hotel. 20 kilometres to the northwest of Ocean Beach, you'll also find Hastings, home to the Omahu Motor Lodge and Elmore Lodge Motel. While in Hastings, make sure you visit the Splash Planet, Hawke's Bay Opera House and Hawke's Bay Exhibition Centre.
Travellers transiting through Hawke's Bay Airport can book accommodation at the At The Rocks Motor Lodge or the Bluewater Hotel, which are both a short ride away.
