When we checked in, we noticed that the beds were slightly dirty… a few hairs a grain of sand here or there. Every time I check into a room I peel back the sheets and search the room for signs of bedbugs before even bringing my bags up to the room. When I did this, I found that the space between the top sheet and the mattress cover was quite dirty a good amount of sand and dirt and lots of hair. I went to the front desk and explain the situation and the Desk clerk offered to have somebody come switch it all out right away and clean the beds. We agreed. I did have to call a second time as they did not come up right away. It was over 25 minutes. When they took the mattress cover off the second bed, the mattress showed a huge stain. The person cleaning pointed out the stain about the same time that I noticed it. He immediately offered us another room. I looked closely at the stain and then smelled it, and it turned out to be what we believe was just juice. The room was a little bit rundown and I was so focused on the bed so I didn’t notice that the bathroom walls were dirty, particularly in the area right behind where the door opens so it’s somewhat that a cleaner could miss it. The hotel‘s policy of only cleaning every few days is definitely coming back to bite them. The air conditioner was dusty and the filter on it definitely needed changed or cleaned. The safety door latch was coming unscrewed. The price view and location were great and the staff was friendly.
