This is a very tough review to write because the hotel is lovely, the rooms are beautiful, the public spaces are all wonderful. The staff at the breakfast was also so kind. I got to interact briefly with the cleaning staff as well and they were also wonderful. Everything was actually perfect here…10 out of 10….except for one thing!! The potent, intentional smell in the lobby is hands down the most offensive thing I have ever smelled. Apparently it is pumped in through the Hvac system?? In our current world where so many people have allergies and sensitivities I am shocked they would do this? I do not have any allergies thankfully but I had to hold my breath from the elevator to the lobby door every time. It is not subtle at all, it is so strong I am shocked more people have not commented on it online. In person I heard multiple guests talking about how nauseating it is. Outside of this, the hotel is amazing but knowing this smell is intentional I would sadly never return. It did effect my 5 day stay for sure. :(

Booked this hotel after leaving another crummy hotel across the street. The element hotel staff were excellent and very accommodating to our needs. They allowed us to check in early which was such a nice surprise and our room was nice and clean. The linens were really nice and I liked the fact that they had filtered drinkable tap water in the room. I always hate buying tons of water bottles. The pool was cute and had a nice atmosphere even though it was next to a street. My only complaint was the pool temperature, website said it was heated but I really doubt it. Freezing cold, no one swam in it in March. I would stay here again.
